I prefer Brannans Bass Shop, family owned for the 30 yrs. Support the little man. One day everything will be cooperate. Brannans is having a ONLINE SALE as we speak check out the web site: www.brannansbass.com Shipping is " FREE " on orders over $50 and $5 on lesser orders. I agree with you on this one! TFP
Above all else hold these two things in the greatest of circumspection; government and self. YOLO=Schiefspiegler

I live by Bass Pro but prefer Cabelas. Cabelas seems to have better prices to me.

Academy for a walk in store. Dick's is terrible. Brannans is a nice shop while traveling through Powderly. Tackle Warehouse gets most of my business though. Cabelas and BPS are overpriced and if you catalog/online order, be prepared to wait too long and pay too much.

Couldn't have said it better myself..but in saying that Lake Fork Marina,Star Mart, and Oakridge get alot of my money as well..I'll pay a little more to get tackle there if I can..just my .02

I will no longer shop at dicks...customer service sucks. Simple - spend your money at academy or shop online

Academy all day long, Dick's has less selectino and is more expensive!!! Dick's has an great sale going on now compared to Academy if you are into Zoom soft plastics. I would not by a rod or reel from either place. Academy overall selection is going downhill compared to 5 years ago.

Dicks has never had a good selection of baits but enough to get you by. Academy had a very good selection a few years ago, but has cut way back here lately. You're not going to find the high end stuff at either one. They are only 7-11's for the tackle business.

Academy has went WAY downhill. The only positive for Dicks is that they carry Cavitron buzz baits. BPS, Cabelas and Academy do not and I love those buzz baits.

I seem to buy from all of them. BPS best overall selection but yes high on prices without a doubt but I still buy some items there just can't find at other places. Some items I simply won't buy at BPS because they are just too high. I drive by BPS Grapevine twice a day to and from work plus it is less than 10 minutes from my house so just too convenient not to shop there.
Academy is not convenient and their selection seems to be going downhill. I buy some items there but not a lot. The Dick's in Flower Mound has a limited tackle selection but always has some clearance items and sometimes they are good deals. Recently loaded up on Excalibur PopR's for $2.00 each.
I also buy a few items here and there at Walmart. You can get lures like Rattletraps there at least $1.00 less than BPS.
