May God bless everyone that has been affected in this horrific tragedy, and put his healing arms around the young boy.

I met your brother here on the forum and we had a good trip on Fork at night from my boat a couple of years or so back. He was just starting to get serious about bass fishing as I recall and was even more excited about getting his son into the sport. He'd been out with a popular guide whose name escapes me. The guide had helped Justin pick up the drop shot, my favorite technique. We fished around the light by the Minnow Bucket and picked up some good bass. He asked if I'd mind if he brought his son to the spot since I'd mentioned I might be fishing again the next night. Most people these days aren't considerate enough to even ask. Your brother was one of the good ones. We always planned to get on the water again but couldn't get it to work out. I can't imagine what your family is going through but please let me know if there's anything I can do.

Makes my stomach just turn especially a father of young children who love to fish with me. We just lost a good man and father of two in South La last week in a boat accident. Lets slow them down and take that extra precaution. It just is not worth it !!! God Bless

Very sad story to hear about Justin and his son. Hoping for news that your young nephew will recover.

Justin just last year had asked on this forum about a certain PFD model. I sent him info and photos and with others, we exchanged messages as I use and wear the model he was buying. He mentioned too his son and his insistence that he and the boy would wear them all the time when on the water. And we hear that the deputy confirms they were indeed wearing them.

RIP J Wilcox
