I just keep my pocket knife sharp, tried xtools braid pliers, scissors, pliers, etc. Always ended back with my sharp knife. Leave the clippers for the mono/fluro.

Side cutters suck for cutting braid in my experience. Sharp knife, a good pair of scissors (i like the little serrated ones) or these guys http://www.foreverlast.com/revised/G2PLiers.html

Those pliers are great. One of my favorite things i keep in the boat. Well worth the $35

Where'd you get that Power Zap Big Red? That thing would make a good Wormizer.

These are greatness

I am another fan of the Boomerang. Cuts braid really cleanly. Has a lanyard on it so you can attach to belt loop.

Looks like the cheapest option will be the cigarette lighter. That's what I use.
