Caught sandies at HH and met Jimmy aka "Tornado". He gave me some tips, showed me how to use a bobber and gave me some minnows. Cool dude and very helpful. Saw two hybrids get pulled up at HH, the sandie bite was wacky, kept going on then off then on again. I'm sure the pressure had something to do with it. Sandies hit minnows on the bottom, on a bobber, and roostertails. Also saw "Tornado" pulling em up constantly at one point with a small jerk bait.

Today was all about catch and release, limit on sadies, caught four hybrids, and broke two off. Went by the HH.... Crazy how everybody thinks that's the only place with fish..

Look up " Aquaponics! The self sustained revolution." on Face Book and like the page to learn how to use fish to grow anything at 4 times the rate with 90% less water than normal agriculture while eliminating all chemicals and producing fertilizer for in ground plants.

I too was in the upper part of the hell hole with a fly rod and did well. Good also down on the pipe.
Anyone have any opinion on the lack of fish upstream this year???
Water looked nice in the 1/4 mile stretch above fire wheel bridge, and I beat the water to a froth up there. I did not see any fish, and very little bait.
I've done we'll up there in past years. I guess too few storms.
Was there a warden down there yesterday am?? I heard what sounded like a police radio. I would have guessed some would have scattered like flies, but noone did.

Bg I was there too, heard that urp urp urp of a loud speaker and then in a timely fashion I watched an excited younger male coming down the trail making all kinds of 'OK I'm here' noise. I figured it was him. Lots of us had loud stereos, or big tires or spoilers at that age....
The ONLY reason to fish with a fly rod in Texas is to throw a POPPER, casting any other type fly just means you're doing something.
