A leader still is behind the braid main line which comes through the cover first!

if your snappin 12 lb flouro sounds like you need to loosen your drag...you throwin on a castin or fairy wand? if on a fairy wand i use 8 lb and i rarely snap it but the only thing is constant retying. and to your original question i would use flouro on all the baits listed. the only thing i use braid is punchin and frogs. hope this helps. I'm using a Abu Garcia veritas micro guide medium heavy. I only snap it when I have a leader tied to braid. I never snap it when I use straight flouro. But I'm at a delyma. I like to use braid because of no line memory and ease of castibility. I will try and loosen the drag an see if it helps. But I'm afraid I'm going to have to go with Cody's advice and use straight flouro Where is your leader breaking and what knots are you using?

use mono for leader, you need some stretch on hookset and loosen the drag some, use a blood knot to attach to braid or you will get cut line from the braid. I prefer a swivel on the braid to attach another line for leader though, much easier and faster to retie when needed. http://www.animatedknots.com/bloodknot/i...imatedknots.com

Everyone is different, but here is what I use:
1. texas rigging: 17 or 20lb floro, unless I'm in a lot of brush, then I use 50lb braid. 2. shaky head: 12lb floro. 3. weightless: 17lb floro. 4. rattle trap: 17lb mono. 5. spinner bait: 17lb mono.

12-15 # Flouro all the way around except when throwing into some grass, or a lot of brush piles which I then generally use a 4 foot flouro leader.
