Went there last night and saw multiple stringers full being pulled out. We were shoulder to shoulder and someone (acehole) even broke their rod tip trying to pull one in lol. Dang thing was huge! Ran right by my leg on the way downstream while he was trying to real it in. I should have just grabbed him...

Rain so far is .25 inches.

RC is up 1/2 a foot.

Flow is 200cfm (double normal rate)

We are about to get hammered with rain from the southwest.

If your going to fish today you got 1-2 hours max before chocolate milk.

It is already muddy as hell.

Ya... I have a cut on my thumb from last night from grabbing one. Doesn't bother me too much.

I agree with you Bull. I have a kayak as well. If you have fished RC before, you would know that getting to a spot first doesn't necessarily matter to some of the other fishermen. Everything is cool till you start pulling in fish. I have been hit many times with lures and 1-2 oz. sinkers, wading after catching fish, from guys on the bank. Just want you to be safe. That's all. Creek is open to all and you can do what you want. You will find yourself holed up in a spot that 20 people are trying to cast to and the're not going to care you're there.

+1
One day this past week, a fellow fisher asked me what it was like fishing at RC during the height of the run. As I looked around the area we were in, the lack of noise other than the chirping birds, the lack of trash on the banks and the lack of another person in sight, I summed it up as follows - "combat fishing". smile Don't get me wrong, almost everyone I have met at RC has been great and a lot of that is because of how you treat others, but there is definitely a different mentality among some of the anglers.....understand it for what it is, prepare for it, don't be a hothead beyond reason and you won't be disappointed. You will meet some great folks, always walk away with a good story of "what I saw at the creek".....and you can catch some great fish. The positives still outweigh the negatives IMO.

I agree With Fishall50. It is what you make of it. Just different than other spots. There is a reason people go there so the fishing can be great! I personally have never met a stranger so I talk to everyone and I have learned far more about fishing from talking and sharing. Just wish they invented mud repellent gear lol!

I only fish on days that end in Y!

"It is already muddy as hell"

Ever notice the folks with fish are always muddy from head to toe.

Creek hit 10' a few minutes ago, dropping now.

Flow is 1280cfm- normal is 100cfm. It's moving pretty good.
