I go with the glue boards. The issue with spraying poison out is that they don't build webs nor groom themselves, therefore they do not stick thier feet(?) in thier mouths (to ingest the poison they walked through). I saw 21 in the first year in this house, 14 in glue boards and 7 walking around. So, I have come up with you only see 1 out of 3, so the boards do the work for you. In time you will see less and less. You will never get rid of them altogether. I think placing Boric acid in cracks and places they enter knocks them back a bit. When you put the glue boards out, against walls typically under furniture, you may find other critters you don't want to see. LOL

Make sure you are stuffing steel-wool in any weep-holes you may have in brick or stonework on your house. Did that and really cut down on the little buggers coming into the house......

May you be treated the way you treat other people, today and everyday!

I have been using Deamon WP. It works. As mentioned above. Make sure and remove any wood piles or rock piles away from the house. I just recently changed to Cyper WB(You can get this from Amazon for around $31.00) It works also. I have tried the Ortho granules and it does not work on scropions.

I sprayed the Cyper WP last week and later that night the scropions were coming out of the cracks between the garage and house. They were a little sluggish. The next morning I had about six that had died on the driveway.

When you spray Deamon or Cyper WP, make sure to spray it in the weep holes around your house and approx. 3 feet up the sides of the house.

@Emit- I never tried the steel wool in the weep holes. I use the steel wool to prevent snakes from coming in the garage. I place the steel wool in the corner of the garage doors. I am in the process of using screen to cover the weep holes.

I have battled scorpions for a couple of years, nothing seemed to work! Watching where i put my bare feet and banging my shoes on the floor has just become a way of life. I recently got a house cat for my son, that sucker torments the scorpions and now I see very few. Get a cat!

If your house is pier and beam try throwing several horse apples ( bois d'arc fruit ) under there . You can also place the fruit on saucers (they rot) in every room . Horse apples contain boric acid and will keep the bugs away .

Make sure small kids and pets can't get to them . wink

When I bought my house we had Scorpions BAD! The house had been vacant for about 6-mo before we bought it and had other bugs which draw the scorpions. I did like said above put down the granuals heavy and picked up some of the do it yourself spray from home depot or lowes and sprayed the interior of the house around doors and base boards every 2-3 weeks and the outisde perimeter of the house from the ground to 1-1.5 foot up and all the door and window frames and the soffit.

About 3 months later I quit seeing them and havent seen one for 7-8 months.

My parents put moth balls all around the walls of the house...this tends to keep them out...

Fly tier (yeah, I can fly fish...but the fish don't like frothy water!)

Buy a small black light, preferably battery operated. Scorpions will glow a bright yellow under a black light. Turn out all lights in the house or shop, and walk around with a fly swatter and smash them. On summer nights, they will crawl up on the outside the house late at night to bask in the remaining warmth, especially if you have brick siding. Spot them and smash them. Get the kids and grand kids in on it; they love it. Do this a couple of times a week in late spring and summer, and your scorpion problems will be minimum. Closest thing I have to a hunting lease!

My neighbor is a licensed exterminator. The fed govt has banned all the good stuff that would kill scorpions and spiders (DDT, Diazinon, etc). The only way is a direct spray or glue boards. He said if you have a large tree with branches that extend over your roofline, you are going to have them. Scorpions climb the tree, then drop down onto your roof and go inside the house. He has seen attics infested with scorpions. Had to have the tree limbs removed to stop the infestation.

If I ever cross into Mexico again, I'm going to buy a bottle of cheap Mescal, dump it and fill it with DDT.

Unfortunately I have never found a quick fix. In order to get rid of my scorpion problem it was a small chore. First I trimmed all the overhanging tree limbs away from the house and did a serious trim job. Then you remove all the brush piles, wood piles and anything that insects love to make into a home. The granules work well towards assisting getting rid of the insects they feed on. Check the grout on the house as well as the roof and any possible access points to your home. That and I also pay for quarterly exterminator trips.
