good question.. but idk really think using that entrance is a problem. I can say I personally would have dropped the TM and told him i was just passing through and not trying to mess him up.

Man o man hard to say not being there. Boat direction means alot in tight places. I have been in those spots many times this time a yr. 1st there planing on fishing all the way back and someone get right on your tail and want by ya. I've blocked them if short distance let them by if alot of water ahead. Been some interesting conversation in the least. Seen tds go either way on dispute. I for one aint lettin ya by me if

Sorry, rereading, my post doesn't make sense. If u are fishing in area that people have to run their big motor, then tough [censored] if your peace and quiet is ruined for 30 seconds.

Don't think he "had" to run his big motor. If someone is fishing a tight channel and you want by then I think it warrants some reciprocal courtesy. Shut down the motor and troll past. Heck - troll into the cove anyways and catch more fish.

I think everyone on the lake has had some bad encounters. Waked hard, bank fishers having their lines run over etc. I have trotlines cut. Part of America180. Money rules. I guess I am guilty as well. I eat at least 3 limits of bass for every trotline that is cut. Such is life. What goes round, comes round. Most folks on the lake are great. A few like everywhere are not.

I had one run in with tournament fishermen. I was not fishing in a bass tournament and was actually catching sac-a-lait. I'd been fishing for about an hour when this bass boat comes screaming in. Was a narrow ditch about 3/4 mile long that only had about 1 - 1.5 ft of water in it. At the very back was a deep pocket of water about 20' deep that was probablyl 30 yards across and 60 yards long.

They immediately told me they were fishing a tournament and told me to leave. Had they been a little nicer I would have obliged, but they didn't ask me to leave, get out of the way, but basically told me to get lost they had money on the line.

So I told them I would stay over the single brush pile I was fishing and would not disturb them. They made two circles around the hole with buzz baits and never caught a fish. I had actually bass fished this hole nearly the entire summer and played catch and release until I finally caught a sac-a-lait on a crankbait. Then started catching supper every trip and left the bass along.

After an hour or so they started running their mouths again saying I ruined the hole for them. I told them I guaranteed them I could catch a limit of 3-4 lb bass in 30 minutes in that hole. They laughed at me. I asked them politely if they wanted me to show them or if they wanted me to tell them what to throw. They finally got a little friendly and said go ahead show us.

I tied on a black chartreuse crankbait, trolled over to the opposite bank and paralleled the bank. Think I made about 10 casts and after I pulled in my 3rd 3 lber, I told them I'd get out of their way. I tied up to the entrance at a little flat and watched them fish. They ended up catching 7 or 8 fish and left. I went back and finished up with 25 sac-a-lait.

No idea who they were or how they did.

I've also fished a ton of ditches in the Louisiana marshes. Only way to run most of these ditches is wide open. We normally wait for a falling tide and fish the mouths as they entere larger bayous. Have had a number of hunts come by and ask if we realized they would have to run by us to get in the ditch. No problem. They would jump on step, run right through the spot we were fishing in 2-3 ft of water and it would only take about 10 minutes for things to settle down and the bass to start biting again.

If this is a big lake, these fish are used to the boat traffic. I doubt very seriously idling by would have any effect whatsoever.

Not sure if its true or not but I was always told the bass would sit on the edge of the turned up water and ambush baitfish in the clearer water. I know we've caught several on occasion casting just along the edge of the mixing water after a boat would run by us.

Try being in the run by the old pump station on lake of the Pines that is about 10 feet wide, see a red and white Skeeter coming, try to move to the side to be out of his way.......... And he passes me at 65 MPH, missed me by 2 feet and catch a 2 foot wave over the deck of my Legacy colored Z521 with red power poles. If you are here and read this, all I can say is WOW!!!! No words could even come out of my mouth!!!!! Douche!!!

You take up camp in a known channel that allows boats safe access across any body of water, you need to understand that said channel is there 1st for safe passage, 2nd for your personal choice of fishing.

I see doves flying across a sweet spot in the road but I'm damn sure not gonna plop my chair in the middle of the road and expect vehicles to drive through a barbed wire fence to get around me.
