What about Richland Chambers? Could do the weigh-ins at Jerry's World.

We went to both recent Shreveport classics. I am in line on day 2 to go to the weigh in and saw 10 people I knew from dfw tourneys. The crowds would be huge at a dfw classic. The weigh in could be at Jerry world. At least fans would get to see a winner there

I was in Orange at the weigh in today and don't get me wrong it was a huge crowd but folks were still coming in during the last part of the weigh in for the carnival rides, free concert and fireworks show. So at the end of the day it's about the hole picture and even though the fishing wasn't up to par the folks in Orange did it up right. Hats off to the community of Orange. And yes I agree let's get the classic to Texas!

Austin area could handle a Classic easy.

FLW had a Wal-Mart FLW major on Lake Travis back in 2007 and used the Austin Convention Center. Worked well far as I know,

Lake Travis is large enough and close to two convention centers.

Cedar Park is closer to L. Travis:

Austin Convention Center about 20-25 mi. away in downtown:

Would be epic if they could work out a way to do it on Fork. Doubt it will ever happen.

Texas is a major player in the sport. All these great fisheries and no Classic is a shame.

I agree Ray Hubbard would be great. There are some big stringers coming out of it the last several years. But with zebra mussels reportedly already found I wonder how long it will be before they restrict transporting fish. This would cause Texoma to be ruled out. But there a several lakes in TX close to major cities which could easily host such an event. Cedar Creek, Tawakoni, Ray Roberts, and Richland chambers all would be good candidates.

Why would B.A.S.S. ever want to come to Texas?

I can't speak to the politics of a Texas-based Classic, but I can say that this Elite Series event blows the doors off of anything I have ever seen! I travel to at least half of the tournaments every year and have never seen anything that rivals this. Ate crawfish tonight with dang near everyone that didn't make the 12 cut and this event and crowd was all they could talk about.

I truly believe that the city of Orange, TX got their stuff together and put on the greatest reception a fishing tournament could ever receive. Representatives from cities holding future Elite Series events were here this weekend and a new bar was set!

I truly believe with how Texoma has picked up the last 5 years, it could sustain the 3 days of a Classic.. Big sacks in February..

I think Rayburn would be perfect for a classic. Plenty of water. Great fishing in February. Big enough convention centers within north and south. Why not?

Yep.

Bass Pro Shops on the lake, stocking history is incomparable to other Dfw lakes, plenty of facilities and things to do,etc....

Only negative might be is how big the lake fishes, but IMO it fishes a lot bigger then back in the day.
