Blood knot is very strong, but depending on the guides, can be a little larger than some. The double uni is excellent and the Albright isn't bad either.

I took a look at this site and it said many fishermen use rubber cement to coat this knot... does anyone here do that? That is the first I had heard of it but I don't know too much.

I have been interested in trying this knot, but I currently use the uni to uni without real issue other than guide contact

I like the Albright too, but you must take your thumbnail to the braid to scrape off the slick outer coating for a better knot. Otherwise, it might slip. A knot failure at the leader just sucks. The Albright is a smoother knot going through the guides and stronger than the uni to uni, but you have to tie it right!

When you are tying a flouro leader to braid, which line do you wrap around the other?
Yesterday, I made a loop with the flouro and then wrapped the braid around. I tightened the knot, cut the tags off, and when I pulled on the main lines the flouro slipped out... I'm pretty positive that I tied it right though.

Should I be making the loop with the braid and use the flouro to wrap around instead?

Uni to uni I what j have used but I'm going to try these other suggestions. I hate tying the uni to uni, especially if I'm in a hurry.

There is an App out there for iPhone and Android called Knot Wars. It shows and talks you thru most all knots and rates them as easy, medium, or hard knot to tie. Also has a graph for knot strength during certain applications.

I just started tieing this knot as well. Use the braid to wrap around the flouro youve got that right. Be sure to pull the tag ends before you pull the main line. Pulling the tag end of the braid first will cince it down on the flouro. I pulled the main line first once and the flouro slipped out like you stated. Hope this helps.

Alberto knot is really easy to tie and I havent had a failure yet with it. I've used it in drop shot, shakey head, small topwater/ jerkbaits

Crazy Alberto knot. Smaller than uni-uni and grips tighter as it's pulled on.

Lighter braid (6-20 pound test) to lighter flouro (6-10 pound test) the Double Albright. 30+ pound braid and flouro over 12 pound test, Double Uni.
