Last year the bass were schooling quite a bit at the end of April early may. Bubble gum flukes were good early then white later in the day. No big fish in the schools but a ton of fun.

I'm headed up there on Saturday and plan to fish Sat-Mon. Historically at this time of the year, I have fished in Bee with decent success focusing on secondary points and working dropshot and t-rigged trick worms and small creatures.

I plan to venture farther north this time and am wondering if the Holly Creek boat ramp is a better launch point then from the Marina? I've got my 10 yr old son with me and would prefer to avoid the cold wind and waves going to and fro!

Also wondering if anyone would be willing to "rank" the following areas as targets for this trip: Holly Creek, Linson, Otter, and Bee.

Really, anything that can be offered up would be much appreciated.

Wannabe, You pretty much got them ranked good. That's usually my choice, but we have had some cold weather up here and some cold rain up north so some colder water is running in. I did not go up north this weekend but the lower end temp has dropped 2-3 degrees from 3 weeks ago. Holly creek boat ramp would cut down the boat ride but it is about 9 miles of gravel road to pull your boat down. easier to just button down and run the 15 min from Carson Creek. Best bite right now will probably be throw a jig on steep bluff along the river or steeper banks in mouths of creeks, If the sky is high and blue you better go up the river til you get in some water with a little color in it which right now should be anywhere above Otter.

Looks like rain this weekend, so lower end will probably be good fishing. May stand a good chance to catch a smallie or two. I'd throw a red wiggle wart or a deep lil n in Apocalypse or a clown colored jerkbait on points.
