I stand in the front and cast at the neighbors mailboxes. I used to have all the kids in the neighborhood casting to until they all grew up or moved away. Now its just me and my son.

At least you have a back yard. I have only ever had an apartment and my best friend makes fun of me to this day for "fishing" in the living room and kitchen when I was practicing how to pitch into a bucket. I tell you what though, I got pretty damn good just with that limited practice lol

I hit the back of my new pickup with a DD 22 and a hook chipped the paint off the tail gate. Gives it character.
I fish for giants. Grass Bass.

I pitch in the back yard since I have a pool. My wife is used to it by now but if she has friends over i think it embarrasses her a little. Lately I've been hanging a pool mat over the side and skipping underneath it. Works great for practice.

No more embarrassing than practicing free throws when you don't play basketball for a team and you'll never be shooting them. At least you're practicing for something you'll be doing.

My two lil healer pups love chasing a frog!! I cout the hook off a screw lock and they have a blast. They get tired pretty quick after 20 or 30 casts.
Politicians, baseball players, high-powered corporate CEO's they all seem to eventually let us down. Nature, however, does not. Look to her for inspiration and you will learn the secrets to living a good life. The most Important lesson it would seem is to make sure you spend as much time fishing as anything else.

I practice in the pool, more for lure presentation than anything, I do get some funny looks from my neighbors and friends, I just tell them it is pretty slow today.

I do, but not many neighbors now in the country. I used to get a lot of comments for standing in my boat in the yard fooling with tackle and casting.
Best one was while staying in a motel at a bow tournament. We had the door opened and a bow target in the room, shooting it from the parking lot. A lady screamed and ran thinking someone was shooting someone in the room! Cop was a hunter and was pretty cool but asked us to find another place to practice.

When the wife first started using a baitcaster, she would practice in the back yard, when she got good at that she would stand no the deck and filp to coffee can lids she placed around the deck, she got pretty good at it too

I went into gander Mtn. In Tyler. And the had a boat pulled into the store and you had to stand on the front deck and pitch a bait into a painted circle. Won 10$ lol

I walk all around my property flipping under bushes, to trees, around the grandkids swing set pretending they are dock poles, under the bbq pit, around laydowns of logs cut for the bonfire pit, under the edge of my backyard deck and just about everything I can think of. The only time I get in trouble is if the wife catches me flipping in the garden. I have knocked off a tomato or two and she frowns upon that. Best thing is my next door neighbor has a small pond with bass in it that I can fish anytime and harass those small bass.

I cast in the front yard all of the time. Don't care if the neighbors think I'm weird.
When I lived in an apartment, I used to go out to the swimming pool when no one was using it so I could observe the action / reaction of the the lure. Super effective for jerk type baits so you can see how it looks when your working it and adjust accordingly.

My grandson comes over and he will practice in the front yard. Some of the neighbors that fish thinks he is pretty good at flipping and pitching. You only get better if you practice. I need to get out there with him so I can get better.
