my question to y'all is, how many of you have been made fun of for practice casting in the front yard? or, have you been so embarrassed that you only did this in the privacy of the back yard? As for myself, I was known as the crazy man that fished in the front yard. This was funny to some of the neighbors, until they saw me teaching their kids to do it! before long I had a half dozen kids in my yard wanting me to teach them to cast, pitch, and flip. This was a great experience for me especially when my job was taken over by my six year old daughter. Then my job was to pass out rods, and pop sicles.

Ill practice just about anywhere. Front yard, back yard, parking lots living room. Its great what you are doing with the kids. Keep it up and let me know the next time the popsicles come out.

I have done that, but have one better...I went Turkey hunting a few years ago. When I got home I stuck the stakes for the decoys in the front yard...I took all the rest of my stuff in the house and as I was my kids put the turkey decoys on the stakes and they stayed there for 2 days...I caught ALLOT of flack over that one!
My Yankee neighbors said it was like being in Florida, but instaed of Flamingos they were Turkeys.

Teaching kids to flip and pitch. That's awesome!! Teach them the hat trick and you will really get a name for yourself.
HAT TRICK: person stands facing you at about 20ft away holding a baseball cap at waist level. You cast just past their shoulder about the same height as the cap holder. Jig rolls back through open legs and into the hat.
Very simple and very impressive to those watching. I haven't been pitching that long, so if I can do it, Those kids sure can.
Note: clip the barb off the hook for safety, they are just kids!

I do it all the time. I take it a step farther though. When someone drives by and I see them rubber necking, looking at me all crazy. I will set the hook and act like I caught one. Gets a lot of laughs.

Strickly catch and release for all you cat lovers out there.

Boo-Yah makes an electric flipp'n game that when your jig lands in the plastic cup, it makes that sound Boo-Yah! It has an electronic score board too.

When I had a condo in Addison I used the pool to tune my baits. I got a complaint from the HOA. I returned a few photographs of the pool area. (in January) and a couple of the baits I was tuning. I got a phone call when they recieved the pictures asking for info on the baits!
