We used 20 fluorocarbon for general fishing, 25 lb. fluoro for flipping bushes and 15 lb fluoro for deep cranking. Didn't have any breakoffs. Winched one 10.43 lbs out of the huisatch (?) with 25 lb. fluorocarbon 2 years ago without a nick. InvisX all the way.

I only use braid when flipping the brush. When I throw cranks I use 10lb FC for lipless cranks and swim baits i use 12-14lb FC or mono. I think that braid on all of your rods could hold you back. Braid having no stretch has the potential to rip hooks out when fishing moving baits.

This is my plan exactly for our trip end of February.

Agreed. I really like this game plan. I haven't fished enough, especially on Falcon, to know that line type could make THAT big of a difference. Looks like many other factors would come in to play before what type of line I am using affects me, but any advantage I can have the better amirite?

This exactly. But I wouldn't count on the no breakoffs.

My best Falcon fish, an 11, came out of some really gnarly stuff on 65# braid. It took me a good 3 to 4 minutes to work the fish loose and get her up to the boat. Zero chance of landing that fish on mono or floro.

65lb braid if I'm in the heart of thick brush and thorns and the water is stained. Flipping more open cover/hardwoods in less murky water I'm going with 25# flouro. Flouro WILL get you a few more bites, and folks, I've seen Tommy Law pull fish out of places on 25# flouro that I would have lost the ranch betting on the fact that he was screwed. It is and will continue to be the reason I now have faith fishing flouro at falcon.

But, make no mistake, there have been several fish lost on braid where they had no problem sawing through it in thick cover...

25# Fluoro on most everything just check your line and strip frayed line often, cranks depend on depth range and amount of brush in range.
I have been throwing 65 PP braid on spinners through the thick stuff with good success for awhile.
I do sometimes wonder about the theory of the braid not stretching and pulling the hook out.
I don't have a solid opinion on that yet. But I feel pretty good about saying stretched line equals weakened line.

I like braid on single hooks, feels like I get more solid hooksets.
