That's weird, I've never heard seen or done it!! Who the heck would bang on a boat? Supposed to be quiet calm and soothing on the lake. It has to be a myth!

I have heard of people doing this with hands, oars, small 2x4,golf clubs. With that said I have to ask, if your after sandbass and hybirds do you use a sand wedge or a hybird 3 iron

Okay, I will say it, since nobody else is biting on the subject. Somebody needs to make the dang thing, lets get this process automated. One way to get back at the sea fleas would be 20 boat loads of fishermen sounding off in some type of syncopathic thumping rhythm, on what would otherwise be a nice quiet relaxing day on the lake.

I've been on 3 different lakes with guides/friends that use the "thump" method when the fish are deep ...... and we have loaded the boat with Hybrids and White bass.
I'm a believer ...

All I can say is that I am very glad this has not caught on where I fish. I have been to other lakes in the metroplex and seen it numerous times. Personally I think it is a joke. To each is there own though. IMO if you want to do an Indian dance on your boat and beat it with a mallet then go for it. It is somewhat annoying to others fishing within 200-300 yards from you though.

I tried to build something simple but it DOES NOT work I thew my machine in the lake
