What you might try to avoid the noise is to back off from the folks doing it, you know just stay 3 or 4 hundred yards away.

Seen a lot of very successful guides use it and swear by it. Some one put it to the test boat 2 to 3 hundred yards away from the cadence regime , check catches and then switch places, i.e. fishing skills not being the determining variable. Depth of water is a major factor, seems to me that anything less than 25 fow the " pounding" is less effective.
