Every place on the lake has a 5 night minimum for big tournaments. Bass Buster Inn isn't doing anything different. That's just the norm on Rayburn. I've never had anything but great service from Bass Buster Inn. Having said that, I wouldn't stay at Sam Rayburn Marina (also called Twin Dikes Marina) if you gave me a room for free. That place is TERRIBLY managed.

Also, if I ever have a problem at the BBI, they come and fix it immediately. I had a shower head break one night and the owner came to fix it at about 11 PM.

What championship is this? I live on the lake and like to go and watch tournaments.

Just an FYI,

Powell Park is 35 minutes by truck, 3 minutes by boat from Humphrey.

No 5 night minimum, $50 cabins, and you won't have to sit in line to load and unload.

Also, good food, gas, and a decent line of tackle. Big Bite, Owner, Jewel, Sunline, etc.

Used to keep a travel trailer behind the store in the late 90's when I was Tourney fishing alot. Launch, run across, go through boat check, fish, weighin, run back across, load, and head back to Dallas.

The new owners are tourny friendly, good folks.

I used to stay at Rayburn Country alot and never had a problem with a 5 day minimum. I don't know if they have changed it lately but it is a good place to check into. Also, Billy Fondren has the Tiger Creek Lodge and it is a nice setup.

I stay at Bass Buster regularly and the older gentleman Buster ( always an awesome guy to talk with) is still there and his son is running it. I feel it is still being ran the same way it always has. Been going there for probably 8 years. He called last week and said i left my personal pillow and i appreciated him calling me...

Bass Buster Inn is a good place. Stay there and they will make you feel at home.

As far as them being rude, ... that is something I have never seen from them. Do you think maybe they were reacting to something that was said to them? If you call Mike, he'll probably get you a room but you will be sure it's for 5 nights. What's better, 5 nights or no place?

I called bass buster inn and they were booked but he was very nice and gave me several numbers to call in the area. He went out of his way to help me find a room. Thats hard to find now days....We must have talked to different people.

I have never, ever been treated rude by anyone there. Super nice people. But, the 5 day minimum was a sore spot. There was a FLW tourney where everyone got sopping wet from the really big waves that first day. They offered to dry all our cold weather clothes (coveralls and rain gear) in their dryer in the back room,,, FOR FREE! That's great service. It's just hard to pay for 5 nights when you only need 3 or 4 nights of lodging.

5 night min. during big tournaments is outragous! thats no different then price gouging. they all do it because you let them. quit going to these places and they will start giving you 5 nights for the price of three! as far as I'm concerned they are all crooks and should be thrown in jail, but that is just my humble opinion. glad I live on this side of the river.
