i booked a room for the national championship a month ago. just got a call from them to confirm i will be there. i said yes my dad qualified but need to change it to 4 nights. i was then told he has a 5 night minimum and im out. i asked what the cancelation policy and reservation changing policy was when i booked and was told 7 days. also when i booked it was only half full. now my dad is out on his ars without a room. the guy was very very rude, i told him we will never come back there and he just held FINE! and hung up on me. rant over.

I can believe the part about a 5 night minimum. All the hotels and parks do that during the big tourneys. I am having a hard time believing the rudeness of them. I stay with them probably 18-20 weekends a year and have never ever had anything but good dealings with them.

If I were you, I'd give them a call back and try to deal with them. It's not like you have a lot of options around there. You might possibly have gotten the elderly man that sometimes handles things and he probably came across rude not meaning to. If you can get the younger Mr. Harvey on the phone, he will help you.

Same thing happened to me a couple years ago at an Everstart tournament. I decided then I will never stay there again and so I normally stay in Jasper now. I'd rather drive than give those people my business.

+1
Exact same thing happened to me with a FLW tourney. Got there and was told that I had to pay for 5 days, even though they had me down for 4 days on my reservation.

If I didnt have a house in Rayburn Country, I would stay at the Hotel in Rayburn Country. They have redone the rooms from what I understand. I think they are 70 bucks a night.

Thanks, Billy

My stay at the Bass Buster Inn was terrible.A/C wouldn't cool. The only place I've ever had to pay up front. The guy was very rude and "no" it wasn't the "old" guy.But...it is close to the lake.

Try Twin Dykes Marina right down the road.

Mike and Kathy might still have their Cabin available:
http://www.mikesfishingadventures.net/

Jeff Buchannan might still have the Backlash Lodge available, but it is up the lake by HWY 147 bridge:
(936) 897-1099

Twin Dikes Resort Marina has some cabins but they are hard to contact.
409-698-2696

Most other places will be in Jasper.
