Hi Ya'll first post!

Just recently relocated to Texas, and I decided to take my first fishing trip to Somerville SP. What a disappointment it was! No bites in over 6 hours! Has anyone had any luck at this specific lake?

Welcome! wink TFF is an awesome site for info. Dig into the board that best reflects your type/flavor of angling, & add a lil' more info about what/how your targeting fish: species? bankfishing? boat? kayak? And you should get some response. People are kinda shy about divulging their 'hot spots' but might 'pm' you a few tips. Good Luck!

Thank God for fish !

this is an older report, but look for Obiewan57's reports.

There is pretty good fishing at Somerville. As ChuChu pointed out, Weldon (Obiewan57) is a great catfish guide and a nice guy in general. I'm sure he can give you some pointers and can give you a general idea of catfish spots on the lake.

If you own a boat.. you'll have a lot of luck targeting bass, crapie, and catfish.. depending on the season of course.

Some days are definitely "slower" then others, but overall Somerville has been a good lake to fish on for many people.

Hope this helps. Good luck!
