If anyone has down scan with pics of fish I really use some screen shots to help me figure out fish from bait

the hell pet is the best trolling method for sandbass on humps or bars in my opinion. i have a 9 11 and 14 yr old to keep busy.
The placement of the bait on a givin hump or bar is the key.

That's why I haven't bought a new one. I understand the depth and the pics, but don't know where to stop and cast based off what I see on the screen.

I was wondering the same thing. Not sure if its really relevant with striper/sandy fishing but say you pass over a tree or some structure, how do you know where it is without passing over it repeatedly? This applying to a non side imaging unit.

There are no trees in this area so the tree looking signature towards the middle is the "Christams Tree" reading some may have heard before. The defined arches are due to a slightly faster than idle speed (about 3-4 MPH). The second and third graph pics are closer to idle speed, therefore the arches elongate. Understanding how this works can help aid (somewhat) in the direction fish are moving under you. I think even my buddy Craig Golden could catch fish out of this bunch laugh

What is that Christmas tree reading?? I see those every now and then on my Hbird.. Should i be fishing those?

there aren't any natural standing trees in this area, so the tree shown on the graph means it's a Christmas Tree an Angler must have sunk down there to create structure to lure fish, similar to a crappie condo. It's a good idea to be aware of it and can be very productive.
