Starting a post here that has been requested for graph pics and explanations . Please remember that not everybody has the side scan units so post some regular stuff also this is whitebass/hybrids/stripers only . DO NOT post crappie , catfish or other species on this thread. If you can also explain the pic and the unit you are using .. Try to help people figure their units out . Members are also encouraged to ask questions � �

I will start with simple stuff :)�



As you can see .. This is a Lowrance X25c , this was my graph before it got ripped off I now have the Bird side scan :)�

You can clearly see the fish , the one thing I really want to point out is notice the darker line on the bottom.... It is a little thicker and darker ... �those are whitebass hugging the bottom.�


On this next one, this is an example of whitebass hugging the bottom on a drop off ... Notice they look like little pimples ... I know countless time I have pulled up to a spot and this is what I see. As you start catching them they actually move up and that is when you get the good marks.�

Great idea for a thread! Bombay and a couple of others have explained in past posts, but having a lot together will help.

Now, I know what's going on in this pic, can others decipher? Went from a few fish at 24 feet to a screen full at 2.5 feet in about 10 yards!

This is a screen shot taken at Lake Palestine 2 weeks ago. Wind blown point in 15-20 fow as you can see on gps. Not sure if the haze in the water column under the right side of the boat is prop disturbance from first pass over the point or bait, but you can see the bright orange streaks which are fish mixed in presumably feeding and a pile of bright orange streaks under the boat on the left almost like a hay stack. More fish off to the left on the side scan as well. Slab wouldnt make it to the bottom and all fish boated were spitting up 2" shad.
