DHolding, In the division tournaments there is a payback of 80% of entry fees collected, plus a variety of sponsor prizes, which is the example shown on the payout sample above. BLT offers 4 region Championships (not one or two but four Regional Championships throughout Texas)to our anglers, plus a Grand Championship. The sponsors have made it possible to give an additional $200,000 in cash, discounts, products and or service to the anglers who fish with us. This is a very generous contribution to the BLT program by all our sponsors that is in addition to the angler entry fees.
Two $45,000 boats (one for each winning team member / $90,000)along with 80% of the entry fees are given to the anglers who place in the Grand Championship. This is possible because the BLT progarm gives back 100% of all sponsors cash, products or services to our anglers and most of this is given out in the Championships.
For example, this year (2012)there are four $45,000 fully loaded (except batteries) Legend Alpha 191 boats with 200 HP Mercury Optimax with two depth fnders and a tandem trailer (not a 16 to 18 foot $25,000 boat with a single axle) were given out to the winners along with the 80% payback. We pay all expenses for the BLT program with 20% of entry fees and that includes the polygraphs, gas, equipment purchases and repairs, insurance, hotels, labor, facility use fees, advertising, office supplies, etc.
In 2013, there will be five Regional Championships for the spring divisions and two Championships for the fall divisions. Again, this is only possible because of the generous support of our sponsors and the angler participation we have received.
We are working with our tournament software provider to fix our payout posting problem. It has not been as easy as one might think because of the way the software was originally written. The BLT program has 4 sets of tournament scales and software. The software does not allow the information to be transferred between computers. Because we provide over 130 tournaments per year, with 4 to 6 tournaments on any given weekend, we cannot always use the same computer for the same division's, tournaments, due to the logistics of equipment scheduling between TDs. Our current software provider has not been able to resolve this for us yet and for us to post 130 tournaments manually takes an enormous amount of time. We do appreciate the patience and understanding of those who fish with us as we try to resolve the problem.
Thanks for your interest in the BLT program and questions.
BLT staff

Kantex, I am not sure why the misunderstanding occured about the value of the Gander Mountain gift cards at the Hubbard Creek Big Bass tournament several years ago. However, if you feel you were mislead or that you did not get what you were promised, please send me a private message on the TFF with a way to contact you and I will resolve the issue.
In this particular tournament the BLT program paid out over $6,000 more than what was collected in entry fees to the anglers who entered the tournament due to the sponsor's contributions.
Gander Mountain was generous enough to provide the BLT program over $3,000 worth of $100 gift cards for us to give out as a fourth or fifth hourly prize in addition to the entry fees collected.
I look forward to hearing from you, Charlie Davis

I understood the original post as asking why BLT did not post the results with payouts. I never felt like I was cheated, just thought there may have been a mistake. Like stated earlier, I did not notice the issue until a couple months later. Just thought it would have been simple for me to check for myself if results with the payout had been posted. It very well could have been my misunderstanding. I did win an American Rodsmith rod at the weigh-in drawing that I still use, so I feel if it was supposed to be a $200 gift card, we are even.

Thanks for he rasponse. I didnt want anyone to think I was bashing BLT, was just agreeing with the original post.I was just giving an example of why the results and payouts being posted would have been beneficial to me. I was not asking to be reimbursed or anything. For one I feel it has been too long to address the issue, and it could have been my misunderstanding of the gift card recieved. Again thanks for the response. It shows yall are some stand up guys with BLT. Hope to fish with yall in the future.

I dont understand why people get on here to try resolve their issues with tackle companys, tournament trails, ect. Why not contact the company directly first? You cant go to any page on BLT's website without seeing a way to contact them.

Didn't take the op as trying to resolve anything. He asked a question that has been the topic of many boatramp discussions. To BLT's credit, they answered quickly and concisely as they usually do when something like this comes up.

Jeromy Walker,
We are aware of the issue and we are working towards a resolution. We are trying to not make the same mistake again with the wrong software. The software we are currently using is great for a small number of tournaments, but is not exactly what we need with the BLT and BnB programs. It is taking much longer than we ever expected, but we are getting close to making a decision.
To anyone that would like specific payback information - you can call me ANYTIME, day or night, 24 hours a day. I will not always be able to answer at that exact moment, but I WILL call you back and give you whatever information you are asking for.
