I think the cops lied about the fingerprints, they just didn't want to pursue them. When my place got robbed it took them longer to get there than to go through things. They claimed they found no prints. Too bad on the back door you could see a huge clear as day print that they had dusted. I hope they get their due someday.

Finger prints are viable much longer than that .....Rains and Wood County Sheriffs are notoriously incompetent ........Lake Fork needs to incorporate and have its own Police force....

I hate it for you guys. Man this is happening to much around here.I know that I have never seen anyone patrol the lake fork area. I mention this to the county sheriff's office in Emory one time about why dont they patrol area boat ramps around the lake, their answer was it was out of the city limits ! HUH ? I thought that was what county sheriff's are suppose to do patrol the areas with in the county. I guess the thieves know this. Mark, there isn't much of Lake Fork in Rains county? Rainswood and Axtons are out of business. Lake View, Vals, one public ramp? I'm sure Tawakoni keeps them busy enough. Wood County is is another story. They have been doing a lot the last 2 years. I see them come through the marina during all major tournaments and drive through weekends and randomly on weekdays. Only thefts I have heard about this year have been boat storage units and weekend houses. Put the right kind of locks on and you won't have to worry about a pair of bolt cutters clipping a lock off. I hope they catch the worthless bastards that broke into your uncles house. Shitty.

Too bad- My pal has a real nice get-a-way at Fork on Birch Creek-A year ago thieves broke into his house and cleaned him out-- He had some nice things as it was his pride and joy and he took great strides to have a comfy nice place-- He had security cameras etc but they cut the wires before entering- The looters posted a look-out half way off the entrance so the looters could be notified in case any one came in while they perpetrated the theft. Detectives found cigarette butts and cups where someone had waited on watch-had to be there for some length of time by evidence of trash etc- Never did get any where in solving the theft- It makes it uneasy to stay there as it is off the road some and unless you have a Rambo as a buddy it can be scary when all alone at night-If anyone learns anything let everyone know as it would be best that these scum bags were locked up- Too bad that people have to ruin good things-

Henry David Thoreau said that "Some men fish all their lives without knowing it is really not the fish they are after." I think that I am approaching this stage, that is to have the opportunity and joy to go fishing and enjoy God's magnificent creation.

Man that sux big time and hate to hear it. Never heard of putting reels in a gun safe, but it appears that might be necessary in the Lake Fork area.

Cameron I was talking about those areas in Rains county but I have never in 30 years here seen them at any public ramps in Wood or Rains county. That is where I had my wheel caps stolen at the Rainswood ramp. Now you would think as much as I fish here and use different ramps weekly, I could see at least one in all that time ? The biggest thing that got me was the answer about out of the city limits. Both counties should show up more often than just when a tournament or two comes to the lake. Glad they are helping you guys over there cause the rest of the lake is invisible to them. Not trying to start anything with the departments, just would like to see some appearances made from time to time.

Cops in that area are only concerned with the guy blowing thru town at 59 in a 55, they won't make any money off catching thieves, plus they would have to actually do work to make that happen. Law enforcement in the area is a disgrace!

Law enforcement in the area is a disgrace! That what I have heard many times in that area. Seems like they are Fork has a much higher rate of crime than you average lake.

East texas in general has a higher population of ex cons... They move out there in the sticks where there are less Police. More drugs, more ex felons, less cops = more crime. Simple math.
