Just becasue you have never experienced it does not make it not true. I've never been struck by lightning, but I know it happens. I do appreciate you opinion on the subject however.

I use 25lb seaguar AbrazX and 65lb Power Pro. I re-tie after every fish when flipping and check my line often cause if you're not in the thick stuff you're not catchin them. Never broke off. Also get a dang motor cover, i scratched the [censored] out of mine out there a couple weeks ago.

I learned the hard way about getting a Tuff Skinz too. Only took one trip and I ordered one as soon as I got home.

A Rat-l-trap makes a lot of noise underwater too, but they still eat it. I don't really care if it makes noise or not. I can assure you that you can come up here and fish with me at one of our local lakes and you will not out-fish me due to your fluorocarbon line.... I don't care what goes on in your boat to be honest with you. But what I do know is if you are fishing in cover, wood, grass ect. You are not going to get less bites with braid. The braid blends in with the cover. "Needing" flourocarbon line is all in your head.


Alabama rig debunked the line shy and line noise myth. If a stainless steel Chandelier with 5 swimbaits attached being pulled in slowly by 65lb braid catches fish do you really think they care about the line or the noise from the braid?

I guess you haven't seen the Silent Cranks and Rattle traps without rattles have you? You know the ones for pressured fish. There are times when it makes a difference. I still use Braid all the time. I just know when I need to Change to catch more fish than someone who's using braid.

When Falcon was full I fished 65lb Braid exclusively. There were Fish that had never seen a Boat or bait everywhere in the huisache,However now that it is fishing extremely small and every fish in the lake has been hit in the head with a jig 10 times, Flouro Does make a difference. It is not visibuility, it is Sound.

I used 20 lb flouro and partner used braid more bites and fish came from flouro. I pulled plenty of fish out of some thick stuff. Including a 10.8 which wrapped me around a tree line was fine. Just my experience.

Silent crankbaits still make noise underwater due to the split rings and hooks rattling together. If the noise from a 250hp mercury approaching, transducer clicking and 100lb thrust trolling motor doesn't keep them from eating, then the noise of braid isn't going to scare them.

I've been down there enough to learn my lesson. I use Stealth 80lb in moss green. That is all.

If you can stay out of the tress - throwing a squarebill or med. diver on 15 lb fluoro is acceptable. 20 lb for deep divers or around heavier cover. 15 on the rocks is fine, just baby those big fish!
