My friend happens to catch a few large fish as well.... Not saying yours wasn't 6 foot and 200lbs but here are some pics with weights...So we all have an idea what the monster weighed.

Does no one own a set of scales or is there no marina's within driving distance to weigh it?

That fish is between 90 and 100 lbs

Yea I agree, fish = 6 1/2ft, it's 1 1/2ft taller than the guy, looks to be roughly 1foot off the ground....... Either your buddy is 4th tall or he is giving an air hug about 6 feet back!!! Nice fish in all rights but no need to be pinocchio!

1)Nice fish & fun photo! Thanks for sharing your friend's trophy with us. Please don't be offended by the forum's questioning and jabs about your claims. In the past there have been many "new members" who jump in and start slinging tall tales of big fish. With no repertoire of credibility, it does make your claims very hard to swallow.
2)If this photo is as you say, why is your friend BLURRY but the catfish is not??? Me thinks the fish is hanging from a close limb not see in the pic?
3)Five gallon bucket head? Possible. But that hook in his mouth must be 9" long. Possible? lol, maybe. Likely? Not hardly.
4)No way to weigh it? You catch a 6 1/2 foot catfish, you're finding scales for it...

IMO, the proportions of your friend's fish are inconsistent with the proportions of this fish (distance b/t the eyes, size of the fins compared to body, etc.) It's painfully obvious that the pictures were deliberately staged to eliminate perspective for the viewer. And, it's not that any one of your claims is necessarily unbelievable; it's the combination of them all that cause the red flags to go up in my mind.

I have to chalk this one up to another Great Fish Tale! You've generated quite a bit of interest, no doubt!

Great fish no doupt!! I had a 82 lber measure in at 51 1/2 inches off a trotline last year! Hard to believe a flat head that long, just saying!

Nice fish, but I'm gonna throw the BS flag on the story:

I guess what im trying to say is the state record ( by rod and reel lake palastine) 98 1/2 pounds was only 53 1/2 inches!!! If you think we will believe this fish was 2 feet longer than that then you are out of your mind!!! Maybe you should call Ripleys believe it or not!

But 18 inches away??? Look where his feet are at compared to the fish and the tree. It looks like he is standing 2 to 2 1/2ft back from the fish and the tree.
