Harvel Fisher on T-Bend prob. 1988 or 89. He was a family friend & I got to fish with him several times on Fork when he started guiding here. Only fished with a couple of other guides & they were friends, but I'm thinking about changing that. Might book some trips later this year.

Tommy Martin on Toledo Bend in 1977. Man the fishing was good. We were worm fishing somewhere midlake and he kept telling me to hold on to my rod tighter. First fish that hit that big worm jerked my new 5000C and Lews Speed stick out of my hands. I went in for it and got it. He is a great guy and was a good teacher?guide. My first was with Tommy Martin, too. It was in 1978, and my buddy and I stayed at Huxley Bay. A tropical storm blew through the night before our first fishing day and dropped 14" of rain on the lake. Everything was flooded and it rained until 3 in the afternoon. When it quit Tommy said, "let's go try 'em.". In thr next three hours we caught over 300 bass in one hole. The next morning we went back to the same hole and caught 300 more! All of the fish were between 1 and 3 lbs. Finally, we said "let's go find some bigger fish". We didn't catch another bass once we left that hole.

Mark Stevenson on Fork. 1992. Did not do too well that day, but tried the same spots 2 days later (with his permission) and caught my first and only DD. Only guide I have ever seen that could fish, drink coffee, smoke, and pee all at the same time. Great guy, good fisherman and guide, and enjoyable to fish with!
