ANOTHER BASS PRO SHOPS GARLAND CRIME
Im sorry for the duplicate post, but my goal is to warn you guys and gals. I parked in THE CLOSEST PARKING SPOT at BPS yesterday (June 13th, 2012) about 6:30 pm and ran in to get some baits. I wasnt in the store more than 10 minutes. When I came out my truck seemed to unlock as usual but it looked like a bomb had gone off in the steering column once I got in. The parts had been taken apart but the key wouldnt turn when I put it in the ignition. Absolutely nothing was taken (radar detector, stereo, etc). When I called the tow truck to come get it, they told me to look for a tiny hole underneath the door handle. As soon as I pushed on the keyhole, it fell backwards into the door and there it was.
When I told BPS about it the verbatim response was Oh ya, this happens all of the time. What in the ??????? Then they asked.. Do you drive a full size Chevy or Ford? I drive a 2003 Chevy Avalanche so the answer is yes. They then told me that the City of Garland owns the lot and that theyve asked for cameras many times to no avail. They were given one of those police towers once which they said is worthless because there is NEVER a police officer up in it.
In replacing the driver side lock and ignition cylinder today, the Chevy house told us that they keep plenty of this stuff on hand because of mainly The Harbor, but secondly BPS. They said many per week are requested. Can you imagine the juevos on these guys to do this on the closest parking spot in broad daylight? Needless to say Im going to have an alarm installed next week.
Be careful you guys. These guys acted FAST and must have been pros. My mechanic thinks that they had a spotter and I scared them off because I wasnt in there for long. If you drive a full size Chevy or Ford, be careful. These guys are watching you park and walk off.
Tight lines,
Jackson

I got the cinder blocks - we can make crappie condos out of these yahoos.....police don't need to be notified. I wanna get their lock punch from them once caught and use it on their boys before they go under to swim with the fishes.

Sorry to hear that. I drive an avalanche too, and I shop at the Garland BPS all the time. I say we coordinate a sting operation! I guarantee it's the same group of Dbags who are always breaking into the cars out at the Dalrock ramp.

Jackson they got me last winter behind Olive Garden in Mesq. Cops say they hit trucks looking for guns. They they got my hunting bag with a Nikon range finder in it. They left a hole case of shotgun shells. Get a rope. Its Mesg and Garland so dont leave anything in you truck.

I say we coordinate a sting operation! Since it is legal to defend your property in Texas is it Legal to set up a "Human Feeder" for lack of a better term. I have often thought about parking my Tahoe open the back hatch put some speakers in there walk off a 100 yards and just wait...

They got my 2002 Chevy Silverado the same exact way. There was a small hole right underneath the passenger door handle. The cops said they use a screwdriver to open the door faster than you can with a key. My incident happened at my work garage. They hit 7 other cars.
