Tie it to the wader D ring so I don't forget it somewhere. I have a shorter attention span than a 5 year old.

thats a jig, not a fly

Zone 1 Bennett Springs, MO
"A fly is defined as an artificial lure constructed on a single point hook, using any material except soft plastic bait and natural and scented bait, which is tied, glued or otherwise permanently attached."
http://mdc.mo.gov/sites/default/files/resources/2010/05/6247_4127.pdf

This is where the Near Deere was developed and perfected, you don't even need to use a fly rod to be considered fly fishing with it.

I was not referring to you at all! Oh no! Sorry about that. Any misunderstanding was all mea culpa. I meant to refer to the original trolling snipe about jig vs. fly that set things off.

No, your comments were totally appropriate. I just hated to see a useful thread derailed by that snide attack referred to above.

Appreciate you posting here!

In Yellowstone they say, "Don't feed the bears". This is to protect people as well as the bears. Bears need protection, trolls not so much. Something to think about. Thank you for your support.

it was a comment ...not a friggin snide attack...jeez y'all are a bunch of sensitive crybabies, I made an observation without comment... and stand by it, doesn't mean its good or bad but I'm tired of takin a bunch of $hit from folks that don't know what they are talking about...Initially I was curious as to what a "neer deer" was, couldnt find recipe anywhere... when I googled it the only thing that came up was bunch of green & yellow tractors and that picture of a jig. If you dont think its a jig fine, I don't really care, but don't give me a bunch of $hit for a simple statement made without any malice on my part....btw, enter it in a fly tying contest...it won't cut it.. goodbye

Ok now that the taz is gone. I would be happy to give a few tips on tying near deere (although it seems pretty obvious from the picture). Get a 1/100th or 1/80th JIG paint it green, tie on some feathers for the tail with thread, and wrap some chenille around the body. Voila a near deere!

it was a comment ...not a friggin snide attack ( you always have a friggin snide attack against me) y'all are a bunch of sensitive crybabies ( that was a great come back and shows your immature nature), I made an observation without comment... and stand by it ( and you got proved wrong again), doesn't mean its good or bad but I'm tired of takin a bunch of $hit from folks that don't know what they are talking about ( you obviously dont know what "YOU" are talking about due to I and many others prove you wrong on every "friggin snide attack" you make)...Initially I was curious as to what a "neer deer" was, (for a correction, its called the Near Deer) couldnt find recipe anywhere ( so u now want to find a recipe and use it too! Good for you, now you will see the light)... when I googled it ( finally you looked something up on google, try doing that more often before you make your own rules up about fly fishing ) the only thing that came up was bunch of green & yellow tractors and that picture of a jig. If you dont think its a jig fine, I don't really care, but don't give me a bunch of $hit( <---- Seriously? Why do you think there is a sensor on TFF? So kids dont learn cuss words. When parents see that, they dont let the kids read the threads anymore. You really think a dollar sign hides the cuss word, -very classy).) for a simple statement made without any malice on my part ( you always have Malice)....btw, enter it in a fly tying contest...it won't cut it.(So what? Its still a fly, I dont get why you dont understand that? Its a fish catching machine and is proven to work.) goodbye ( It will be good if you go bye bye forever. More people will post w/o you making them look bad for asking a simple question or bashing on them for something you think is not "pure" to fly fishing...- Get over yourself.)
