All I tie is a Palamar with my Seaguar invisX and will never change because it works flawlessly for me and my clients.
I do I'd a double uni on my spinning reel braid to Seaguar leader

The guy on river monsters appears to use a cinch knot on most of his knots, although they showed a short piece of him tying a knot that looked like a palamar

Cinch knots slip too much for me to wanna tie them. I'm sure they don't slip with braid though but I hardly ever use braid anyway.

Palomar suck, much bettter knots out there. palomar sucks cause you don't wet it good enough or have bad line big bass mcclendon always keeps it very wet. And I use segar Invisx. Thats the problem. Palomar does suck on fluoro. It is a wonderful knot for braid and mono. I use double san diego jam for fluoro, palomar for braid and mono unless it is on a t-rig and on t-rigs I use a snell knot. Palomar works good with Fluorocarbon.

my problem is the hookset... I will break off on hook set... I use alton jones' knot with good results and shaw grisby's knot(same but double line with few less twists) with good results... I set the hook hard! not ridiculous hard but lay into it and I want a consistant knot for taking that shock on strong hooksets!????

Get the knot wars app for your phone. It shows several types, however most are junk. But at least you can see if you are tying it right.

I know the improved clinch is old fashioned, but it works. it was the first knot i learned when i was about 12. i went to palomar and then a few other "fancy knots". im 47 and back on the improved clinch.
double uni for braid to flouro
