Doesn't the '22' in the name kind of give it away? Just askin' It should... but they don't dive that deep. I've seen them hit 16-18 feet on 10 lb fluoro on a really long cast.
You know the old saying
If it floats, flys, or f___s it is always cheaper to rent!
You have to decide which is more important.

On 10 lb I can snag the bottom out of reach of my 15 foot pole.
Larger lines I can get them back with extension pole to spare more in the 12' range.
 Boatless for minute

Try the Kneel and Reel technique it will add a foot or so to a long cast

You must be awesome, mine don't go 10ft with 20# line.
x2
You two guys need to take some lessons from JR. He is the best at STROllING. That's how you get it past 22 ft. Why wear your arm out casting and casting never getting past 15 feet. Drifting or strolling with the trolling motor staying on the contour that the fish are stacked on; get it down there and keep it down there. You can do the same thing with a spinnerbait. Once you catch a big one then you can start searching with fan casting around the area. If it doesn't work go back to strolling. This is an excellent technique to locating active fish, then set you boat up to start working on them.
Each person you work with holds some promise to your future success. According to Norman Lures (I think this might even be on the box): 15-18 ft on 10lb test line.
I have a book that is a compilation of a study on measured crankbait depths and I think the DD22 maxed out at about 15-16ft. I'll look it up when I get home.
