I was testing some lures in a swimming pool and was surprised that I was only getting about 5’ of depth on a DD-22 with a normal retrieve speed in about 40’ of length on the retrieve. Any idea of the depth range of this lure.

depends on the molecular structure of the atoms used to created the material/polymers of the bait. SOme are isotopes and float differently... Thad should be able to explain it in detail.

Killer, if you used a plumb bob to get your measurements, you would not have a 1' variance. Just an FYI.....

You gotta cast em a country mile in order to get them down to 16ft, it takes 40 ft for em to start getting down. Never understood the whole DD-22 designation in their name, it seems they are more effetive in 10-12 ft of water than anything deeper.Hate the way lure companies come up with these predicted running depths!

I can get them down to 17.4-18.2ft with a tournament retrieve.

Seriously, its the pool and short cast that is keeping your bait up. Got to get that thing out there a ways to get it deep. As far as exactly how deep, I will wait for Thad because I dont know.

I can get the 6XD down a lot faster and deeper than the DD22. Deepest I've got the DD22 on 15 poun fluoro is 16 feet on a super long down wind cast. I've got the 6XD down to 18 on just a normal long cast.

I think you need 40 yards not 40 feet. . .

Depends on line size, length of cast, rod length and I'm sure some other water density equations.

for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction... water displacement, water density, water temp... line diameter, rod flexion.... where is THAD?!?!??!!
