Tyler,

East Texas people love their football and you would be close to several good size towns and city's. Not to mention right dab in the middle of the best bass fishing. Little humid in the summer but not unbearable and average winters.

We have lived in the Dallas area and then the Houston area and now have been in Austin for over 15 years.
We are 4 hours away from Fork and Amistad, 3 hours from Choke Canyon and O.H. Ivie and 5 hours from Falcon and Rayburn.
We can fish on LBJ, Austin, Travis (when it has water), Stillhouse, Belton and Fayette.
Plus.it's Austin! Many, many other activities and the area is beautiful. Can't think of a better place to live!

Don't live within a 30 mile radius of Dallas or Fort Worth. Traffic is unreal. Same goes for Austin. Tyler has amenities you require plus some great nearby lakes.

If we concentrated on the really important stuff in life,
there'd be a shortage of fishing poles

Look into Montgomery County North of Houston. Also one of the fastest growing areas in the country. Mountgomery High School is very up and coming also has plenty of youth football. Close enough to Houston to tap that market but far enough to avoid the BS of the city!

I live on Lake Palestine in Bullard Tx which is just a hop-skip-jump from Tyler. I like to fish, golf, fish, fly radio control airplanaes, and fish, and this is about heaven on earth.

Tyler is a beautifull small city with adequate amenities and shopping. This area is "Friday Nights Lights" for football. This is the bass fishing capitol of Texas. There's also good Striped Bass and Hybrid Striper fishing here.

This is great country.

We live in Frisco and love it. Plenty of parents with more money than they can spend and kids they just know are the next football star. I've been told that the FFL (Frisco Football League) is the largest kids league in the U.S. (no idea if that's true but you sure see their team stickers everywhere).

All of that said, you might also look into Keller and Southlake. Football is a religion over there as well and you got Lake Grapevine, Bass Pro and Cabela's nearby. Nice, newer areas, too. Just another few places to consider.

Providence Village, North of Dallas, between Lake Lewisville and Lake Ray Roberts. Plus great schools, a real family friendly area. Low low crime rate. The creeks are full of crappie in the spring. I moved here from California and found this is really Gods counrty.
