If you are interested in Peacock Bass, check out Carlos Hidalgo's book Southern Florida's Peacock Bass. It gives a nice little history in addition to very detailed information on where to fish and effective lures and fly patterns. Good luck!

Wow-I have a new man crush. Imagine Super Dave Osborne guiding urban fishing in South Florida. Cordell, you are my kind of guy. Thanks for noticing us.

I hope our soldiers are coming back too...sounds to good to be true...here is a fat snook from freshwater, the Miami Airport Lakes to be exact...that is where they stocked all the peacocks back in the 80's so its ground zero for them...it is connected to the Miami River which allows tarpon, snook, jacks and other fish to roam...a fat snook usually runs clost to 20" and a couple lbs...this is world class size...blasted them a couple weeks ago but they can be targeted along with peacocks and bass both topwater and subsurface

Texas Peacock Trivia ... There were attempts to establish Butterfly Peacock in Texas in the late 70's/early 80's. Johnson Creek Reservoir is the cooling water supply for Wilkes Power plant, the Peacocks thrived until the the first plant shut-down during the winter , but unfortunately it was and still is a private lake with access only to SWEPCO employee's , being private it is not on this list : but I know a few folks that caught em & said it was purty damn fun way to spend some time http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/fishboat/fis...5&Submit=Go
