I can't remember which is which but Either the Bucoo is 99.00 and the Caras are 169.00 or vice versa -- I may have those backwards ....

If you buy a falcon from Academy and somethings not right with it, or the tip breaks, or whatever happens they will swap it out no questions asked. No paying shipping to the manufacturer and waiting to get your rod back. Just take it in, walk out with a new one. If academy sold dobyn's or duckett's I'd be way more inclined to purchase one. Those bucoo's are great for the price. I love that policy for Academy, I hope it never changes. With all the bogus returns by less than honorable folks I would be suprised if that policy lasted much longer...If it does I would start questioning just how much rods are marked up to cover that. Just take a look at the rod riot price drops and that will tell you how much money they have in markup, more then enough to cover some exchanges. Besides I would be willing to bet when someone goes in to exchange a rod they walk out with alot more then just a rod, usually alot of other markedup products

Academy will start carrying ducketts at the end of this year.no word on dobyns yet.all that returned stuff goes back to the manufacturer and academy gets there money back so academy does not loose anything

I feel like academy and gander mountain have a very poor selection of high end rods...or at least here in Lubbock!!! I like to support local stores but it seems like I always have to give TW my money for high end buys......I dont mind

Academy normally doesn't carry high end stuff in any department. They don't carry stuff like Colt AR-15's, Scotty Cameron putters or any of the really high end rods. They're more geared towards that medium and low priced stuff in my experience. I wouldn't hold my breath for Dobyns or any of the other high end rods to show up.

I ask because we never knew diddly when I worked there. I sure would love to see them carry them though. Great great rods.

The Academy in College station carries the Micro Magics to my surprise(though I only noticed the spinning veriaty on my initial pass through). I've been to a BUNCH of academys and had the thought the one in San Angelo was the best I'd seen until I got here, went in this one to get christmas present ideas and was REALLY surprised it is PACKED with good stuff.

I had a $200 dollar gift card and wanted to purchase a quaility rod for the new Ardent Edge tournament reel that I got through Tacklewarehouse. I ended up getting a 7' heavy action Falcon Bucoo micro rod for around $141 with tax. Looking forward to using the combination. Thanks for all the comments.

Oh yea, forgot to tell you. My rod purchase had to be MADE IN AMERICA!!! That pretty much narrowed it down to a few rods...WOW!
