It would speak long and loud to me if the response to a poll like this one showed that OVER 1/2 of my CUSTOMERS wanted a change.

I personally believe that the ones who like the payout like it is are the ones that will continue to fish all of the tournaments either way, but the ones that would like a change may tend to look at some alternatives. 50 plus percent of my customers out looking at their options would be a little unsettling to me.

The Bass Champs payout is awesome. Its better than any other circuit I have fished, including circuits from all over the country. The only time I get confused is when there is a championship with less than 200 boats there - So, here is my 2 cents. ( which will probably be all I win this year after expenses, lol)

If they paid out one for every 10 entries, based on 200 boats:

It pays the top 7 well, and it seperates 8th place thru 20th, instead of many places getting paid the same check. Last place you may get your expenses back on a close to home lake.

Never seemed fair that up to 8 places would make the same money..e'g. a team who weight 5-6lbs more than another team would make the same money. Would seem more fair to have some $700, $600, $500, $400, etc

From where i'm looking $600 is a good check when i bring in bag that i didn't think would make the cut. it's better than alway's donating. and in this day how the economy is, i'll take how they pay, i've made a few check's, aint rich by no mean's, but i'll keep fishing'em

$600/2=$300-$140=$160. That's if you don't eat, drink, buy tackle, re-string rods the night before, and only use your trolling motor to fish the entire tournament.

You don't have to break even if you place last..a few bucks for gas is better than 0..

Got a point Bullet, but a lot of people do what your talking about just to fish club tourney's and not even get half back, guess i'm saying i'm going to fish tournament's, so i would rather fish something like champ's and get back a little more, plus i like fishing against some pretty good stick's. but that's just me.

So it looks to me like slightly more than 50% want a change to some sort of new payout scale. Like said before the diehards will fish if the payout is 10k or 20k, that 10k difference won't turn people away, it's 10k for fishing! It's the folks who get close to a check or make a small check and lose money! Basschamps I say try a new payscale and see what happens, I think you'll be surprised at positive results you will see!
