Would 8 pound P-Line Co-Polymer work or should I use braid?

In winter I usually put a stick weight (1/16 oz) in the middle of the senko-helps when fishing deeper or in the wind.

I've caught a ton of fish during the winter on orange senko fished weightless in 1-3' of water in the grass beds from noon on. Just a slight pop with rod tip occasionally. Better fished with a warm sun in the shallows here on LBJ.

The closest thing I could find to an orange senko is a 5" Gander Mountain trick stick in crawfish orange swirl or a Trigger X Flutter worm in the #142 color pattern or a Berkley gulp sinking minnow in Pumpkinseed or a Strike king Zero in Bama craw

Does every one use the yamamoto brand or other off shoots. I've made Gary a lot richer over the years.Love his bait but he has about priced me out of his baits.
