The fishing is still kinda slow. I'm able to get them to bite, but it is like pulling teeth Best advice is to downsize and fish very slow. The fish are in less than 20 foot of water and I have caught them on everything from tailspins to 3" grubs on a 1/4oz jighead the past few days. Still able to drop the downriggers and finish off a limit of stripes and hybrid on most days when it gets tough. The good news is the wind finally pulled around to the South about noon today, so I am hopefull to see some schooling action in the next couple days. Travers Group over the weekend

Well after taking the weekend off for a little fun with the family, I have come back to the Dead Sea I knew the cold front was going to put them on lockdown, but I figured it would all straighten out in a few days. With the wind still going from the North, not a lot has changed. Tuesday I think we only had 3 or 4 fish. It was a learning day for sure SOooo.....for the past few days I have dug in where I know there are a few fish and really stuck to the grind. The fish are really shallow right now and running in little wolf packs. I have backed off to the 3/4oz slabapolooza slab and the smaller bait is really getting the bites. After about 9am I have had to do some trolling. Kinda a lot of boats on the lake today, so I couldn't troll until they cleared out, but we picked off a nice limit of striper in about a half hour and headed in. The water dropped 7-8 degrees and the fish should tee off any day now, I think we just need the wind to shift to the South and it will be game on. It will in the next few days, just in time for the full moon

Tawakoni is nearing the 6 foot low mark. Know your surroundings. There are humps just inches under the water in front of Holiday, Wolf, Cedar, TallMan and SRA. I have had to churn mud idling to a spot or two this week. Some places by the dam can go from 25' to 1' in less than 20 yards. Even at 20mph it would be impossible to get stopped, so really take it easy and keep your eyes on your gps if you have one. Stay far from any blue areas on the map!
