Law enforcement sides with the landowners there.

i wouldn't like it at all if somebody left trash in my yard & i dont roll that way
but i dang sure wouldn't threaten them with a gun, unless i was ready for a gunfight
law enforcement can side with whomever they want, but when someone pulls a gun on you self defense comes into play

i cannot stand entitled people like that

Just wait til they open the new part of Devils river state Natual Area. More paved roads to river access. It's gonna double the size of Devils River SNA.

Still not gonna be as good as it was. Still the most awesome river in the state, but not like it was.

From what I hear they traded the current natural area with a privately owned piece of land about 17 or so miles downstream. If this is true, that area of the river is basically lake amistad with little or no flow compared to the upper 30 miles. Yes more access down there, but not really "river". I also heard the piece of property was owned by a significant backer or member of the nature conservancy. Seems like another attempt to slowly choke the public off the river. I may be wrong, this is what ive heard recently. I'll know more in a couple weeks, headed down for a 4 day trip.

It's no different than someone driving down your street and dumping trash in your yard.

99% of guys that take yak fishing/camping trips will leave it cleaner than they found it. Its the recreation users that are the problem. I dont think its the next guad in san marcos.

Sounds like you got some "hot shot" warden fresh out of the academy or one who caters to the land owners.

Probably Kerr Wardlaw. He's a local and a real hard nose about the Devil's. So I've heard.

Anyone who sides with land owners on the Devils river is ignorant. NO FLOATERS are driving that far with no hotels, bars, college kids and being in the middle of the desert for their summer or Spring Break. The people usually using this river aren't idiots but want to see this river thrive. I can't wait til the park open more water because the landowners will then get what they didn't want; more chance of idiots messing with "their river". Bottom line; If you help pay ANYTHING (taxes/Texas fishing license) to keep or maintain any body of water in the state, you deserve the right of use. The Devils river will never become a San Marcos or a Guad. and the landowners need to get off their high horses and work with Texans who will help take care of the river whenever they are on it.
