The Waffle House used to have T bones for less that $9 but I bet they out of sight now.

What has happed to you does not define who you are-
HOW you react to what happens to you DOES!

George's in Waco. Not only great food, but the wait staff could easily sub any day for the Bear's cheerleading squad. h

LaHacinda Ranch (sorry for the spelling) has a real good bone in ribeye, it will cost more than $20.

Been going to Dunstons on Lovers Ln since the early 80's. Their mesquite grilled steaks and baked tater are hard to beat, plus salad bar. Make sure to go to the back door bar there, it is the place to drink & eat. +1 My spousal unit and I go there for lunch once in a while. Steaks are good, salad bar is good, and potato is good. A small filet is only $10.00. Also, it is one of those places with that lived in look because it has been there forever.

Outlaw in Amarillo has a ribeye on their lunch menu for 12.99. There are some well known steak places in Amarillo but I prefer theirs for taste, price and atmosphere.

The best steak I've ever eaten, I've cooked, there is a meat market in corpus called Moody's Quality Meats. It is fantastic. Like cut your steak with the side of your fork good...
As far as a restaurant, we used to go to Texas Road House. IMO best bang for the buck. (although the last 2 times I went, we had issues)

The big Texan in Lubbock has steaks that are pricey, around 20 to 25 dollars for a big steak. If you are in the area, they have one of the best breakfast buffets ever for about 8.95

Country Inn Steakhouse by Lake Sommerville. Huge portions of most mouth watering tender steak you will ever eat. They also have chicken fried steak that cuts effortlessly with your fork. Haven't been there in quite a few years but compare every steak I ever eat to this place, and have yet to find a better one.

Dunstons is good and reasonable but if you haven't eaten at the Lowake Steak House or Twin Mountain in San Angelo you really need to make the trip. When I see everyone talking about the chains like Logans, Outback, Texas Roadhouse, etc... I think that consistency of product over rides superior taste. That's too bad but, I understand when cost is a prime factor.
At least my boat and truck are paid for, woo hoo!

T-Bone Tom's in Kemah has a good selection of "cheap eats" steaks. They have several choices for right around $20 & I've never had a bad steak there. On Tuesday evenings the dinner special is prime rib; 8oz for $14 or 12oz for $20.
