Don't let the 'resale' argument be e deal breaker. A lot of guys use that argument to justify their big name boat purchases. Take you $38k vs a $55k Ranger, skeeter, Legend, etc. Fast forward 7-8 years. You Nitro will ost likelt be worth about $15, the big name boat $20-$22. You've used a quality boat for 7-8 years for about $23k, they've used a quality boar 7-8 years for about $34k. Add on top of that the Present worth of a future amount calculation and it looks even better. -1 on the grammar, +1 on the point

If they'd offer me a Kio Rio with a Civic engine for the same price as the original Rio, I'd take it. Half the price of a boat is the motor, and those are all the same regardless of hull brand.

Enjoy your new boat. Enjoy the time you get to spend in the boat. Take care of it and when it is time for a new one you will have your own opinion about the boat. You paid for it. Your opinion is the only one that matters at this time. It really does not matter how fast it is. 99 percent of the time the big motor will not be running.

I've seen too many nitros on the floor at bps that are already falling apart(seats tearing, handles breaking off, etc). I have yet to see a ranger, stratos, skeeter, triton, etc have those problems. I'm also talking about these boats being on a busy sales floor that sees just as many people as bps. The nitros are made less than 2 hrs from me and they still are not popular around here. They do have some nice features and if they'd ever get past their rep they'd wipe the floor in sales due to the price. Really???? I highly doubt at the Skeeter showroom there are 1000 kids a day climbing in and out playing on the boats like I see at BPS. As a matter of fact I got a pretty dirty look at the Cabelas here in Ft Worth when I climbed into that Ranger to see what the seats felt like. Of course I didn't see any tears in the seats or broken handles either. Must be do to the quality materials they are using. You get dirty looks at bps as well. And yes, I have seen plenty of kids clamoring all over the rangers at cabelas. Even seen guys improperly close lids and such with only cosmetic damage. The point is you seem to see breakdown of the nitro faster than other brands.

I have a 2005 Nitro 750. I've had it for almost four years. I mean the new Z8's and Z9's don't even have rod straps on the fronts deck unless you pay extra. . They come with the boats but do not install them untill the boat is sold to the customer. Ok that may be. That would make sense. That's just what a salesman at BPS Garland told me when I asked.

Anyone with a Yamaha SHO will have a better hole shot then you. I would take that bet. A SHO on a pig is still a pig. Hull design will dictate a large part of your hole shot.

I LOVE My 2010 Z-9 w/Pro 250 XS...Hyd. Jack Plate and Smart Craft Gauges, Etc,...Plus Alot of other Goodies!!! It's the "Ultimate Rig"... Outta the Hole Quick, Fast, Smooth, Rides Great in ANY water conditions, But-Loads of Storage, Very Comfortable Seats and Ride. WHY want for the rest When Ya have the Best?!? The Z Series Nitro's are some Awesome Rigs, Get Ya one...You'll Love it!!!
I've been on the Nitro "Pro State Team" for 3 yrs now...Love it! I'm frequently helping out at Bass Pro on the Sales Floor... And its Amazing at the amount of Kids and people In these Boats. Its alot of trampling on Seats and Playing with stuff constantly. Some of Ya'all mention about the Nitro's comming apart on the Sales Floor... I'd Love to see How Long Rangers, Triton's, Skeeters, Etc. would last with that Distructive abuse! You Never see this at the Ranger, Triton, Skeeter Sales Floors, None of them would last long... Like I said, I LOVE My Z-9!!!

I have a 2008 Z7 and have really enjoyed it. I recently was looking over the Z8's and Z9's at BPS and was pretty impressed with the attention to detail on the 2011's versus my 2008. On my boat the area under the rear storage is painted wood, the new ones were entirely glassed out and looked a whole lot better.
Everytime I see a new Skeeter or Ranger I drool, but mine is mine, it gets me on the water and I have no regrets.
At the end of the day, just fish.

Ok guys I think that it is pretty obvious that Nitro is on the bottom of the list. So for those of you that like them great and those that don't just don't buy one. Please let this thread go away! Bottom of who's list? You take a shot and ask for a thread to go away? Nitros are great boats. I have no problems displaying it, saying it or owning one. The best is when you have some guy who goes out and buys a 20 year old Ranger or something like that, then comes back and bashes new Nitros. Saying stuff like "Buying a Nitro is like shopping at WalMart". (Not saying that applies to anyone on this thread). Whatever I guess buying an old boat is like shopping at goodwill. Most people that Bash Nitro have never even been in one. They are the second hand talkers. I have never bashed any brand of anything that I have not tested myself. Of course Im gonna get the, I rode in my uncles, cousins, friends Z9 and it sucked. Yea Nitro is so bad it went out of business. Oh wait that didn't happen to Nitro.

It's just the fact that you can get other brands for cheaper. (Triton, Stratos, etc)

I was sitting at the gas station the other day and saw a 16' jonboat go by , gave it a serious eye due the fact that he had a power pole on it...made me envious. Guess if you told him that he might laugh since I run a Legend.. Words told to me one night by some guys who check in 80% of the tourneys they fish - "a boat is just a tool, no different than a rod or reel, it is how you use it that counts..." Enjoy your Nitro
