Now that you've purchased the boat, don't look for reasons not to like it.

Who cares who owns what or what boat is the fastest? At the end of the day you have a nice boat that a lot of guys would kill to have. Its new, it floats and it gets you off the bank. Be thankful for the blessing and enjoy the heck out of that thing. The rest is just details.

I've seen too many nitros on the floor at bps that are already falling apart(seats tearing, handles breaking off, etc). I have yet to see a ranger, stratos, skeeter, triton, etc have those problems. I'm also talking about these boats being on a busy sales floor that sees just as many people as bps. The nitros are made less than 2 hrs from me and they still are not popular around here. They do have some nice features and if they'd ever get past their rep they'd wipe the floor in sales due to the price.

When you put it that way I feel bad about even starting the thread. I think maybe I'm being taken the wrong way here. Although like I admitted to earlier a little of me is after justification for the money I spent, but not because I bought a Nitro. It wouldn't matter if it was a Ranger or a Skeeter, I built a 3br 2bath house in 1990 that didn't cost much more than this boat. So please forgive me for wanting a little justification. smile

And certainly don't worry about me, the last kid is grown and off to college and I have two weeks off a month to get out on the lake and get all the justification I need.

Really???? I highly doubt at the Skeeter showroom there are 1000 kids a day climbing in and out playing on the boats like I see at BPS. As a matter of fact I got a pretty dirty look at the Cabelas here in Ft Worth when I climbed into that Ranger to see what the seats felt like. Of course I didn't see any tears in the seats or broken handles either. Must be do to the quality materials they are using.

I have a champion and would fish nothing else except they don't really exist anymore. I am in a tax bracket in which I can only afford a used boat or when it came to new ones probably a nitro. even with my champion i had to upgrade a lot of things on it. new graphes, new trollin motor soon and other such things. with that said my BIL just bought a nitro and i fished from it and all i have ever heard was how horrible they were and it was a nice rig. i guess hole shot is great and all but having a great hole shot does not make you a better fisherman. i would never say that i would never buy a nitro. its all about preference and if you are happy. i think it is just like anything else, its all about saying i have this or that. all that matter is if you have something. i am thankful and blessed to have what i have and i love it no matter what anyone else things about it. i have a boat and i get to fish, i honestly could care less how much faster you can go than i can. heck, nitro is good enough for KVD, does anyone think he would catch more fish out of another boat?

My old fishing partner has a Nitro with a 200 EFI. We fished together in that boat for about 5 years. His boat was very fast, and we could pass a lot of guys after take off. We usually took his boat instead of my older Ranger 481 due to the speed. Nitro makes a decent boat. I don't think the quality is quite as good as some of the more popular brands, but you also don't pay as much. My buddy's carpet, seats and trim pieces seemed to wear a little quicker than other boats. He also had a lot of cracks in the gel coat - nothing serious though. But those things can all be replaced/fixed. Your boat will get the job done just fine - enjoy it.

You must not have read his original post. He said " And I would challenge anyone to show me a boat that gets on plane as fast as thing does."

i'm just posting here or a place holder so i can find this thread later to put up some holeshot vids.

lol.

but really, who cares. if you like the boat great, be happy with it. I'm sure it will serve you well.

they are a great value but not for everyone, like cars everyone has their own brands they like and reasons for it.

I almost bought a new Z8 when I was looking at boats. But by the time I got it decked out like I wanted plus tt&l it would have been well over 40K out the door. Just couldn't bring myself to lay out that much cash so I bought a used Ranger. Nitros are good boats, pay no attention to the people on here that slam them they slam Ranger and Skeeter and all other brands on here most of those guys don't know what there talking about and just wish they could afford a new boat. Congrats and enjoy that new ride it won't be new long. Take care of it and it will be a fishing machine for many years to come.

Don't let the 'resale' argument be e deal breaker. A lot of guys use that argument to justify their big name boat purchases. Take you $38k vs a $55k Ranger, skeeter, Legend, etc. Fast forward 7-8 years. You Nitro will ost likelt be worth about $15, the big name boat $20-$22. You've used a quality boat for 7-8 years for about $23k, they've used a quality boar 7-8 years for about $34k. Add on top of that the Present worth of a future amount calculation and it looks even better.

Exactly.... You should've posed this question before you bought it. If you can't take the negative comments, don't ask bro.

They come with the boats but do not install them untill the boat is sold to the customer.
