@macdaddy - I think you will do ok, I just can't stay out there in that heat. The Town Hall pond does not get as much wind it seems, so the heat gets a little unbearable out there sometimes. When you say red worm, are you talking about a Red Shad worm? I've always done really well with that color in ponds. I noticed when I was there, they wanted that bait moving really slow.
@mholmes - I've never been there, I've only heard the bank fishing is a little tough and sort of limited because of overgrowth (like at some of the Woodland Springs ponds), but that was a while back. I'm up for trying it though. I'll try to scout it out this week or maybe when I get back. You can park at the Chamber of Commerce building there I think?

Good luck! Let us know how you do. Never tried just red color worms. Red shad has always been a "go-to" color when all else fails for me. I usually get the Culprit 7.5" Red Shad worms. Lately I've been doing really well with watermelon red and green pumpkin colors.

I did a drive bye on the pond that supossedly is behind Southlake Police Dept. There actually was a pond, kinda small but nice looking. Only problem is there is only small area to even cast from & it just doesnt look probable to even try..unless I missed or didnt see another opening. You'll have to go look to understand. Mholmes, Town hall is gonna be the spot when it cools down, I'm right with ya! I usually fish from the other side of the pond and sling the fish over the reeds lol. I have had many good fish come off.

@macdaddy- the hours you were at town hall were too hot. Believe me there are some nice fish there. If part of the problem is no car/ride that stinks. I have done a lot better in the morning the last few weeks. Try and get out to town hall by 7:00 am and see how you do.
@southlakeangler- welcome to our little thread here. We try and keep everyone posted as to where they are biting and where to go around the Keller/Southlake area. Pretty open group that shares information (for the most part).

Alright then. Only problem with town hall is that I can't reach the reeds on the other side

Ive fished most if not all the ponds in slake and have fished a couple in colleyville. Havent ventured into keller yet. Fishing has been getting tough in some ponds. I have found deeper ponds have been better and any ponds that have shade. The morning bite has been better than the evening.
Im trying to figure out where im going to fish this evening if anyone wants to go. Start around 7

bottom line in this area is that we have a few pretty decent spots that we like as you can see by the posts....town hall and woodland.
any thoughts/places on southlake in general?

If you like bullheads, woodland springs can produce lots of fish between 1 and 2 pounds. Use cut bait to keep the blugills off your hooks.
A bad day of fishing is still a great day
