I am thinking it a blessing my trolling motor is in the shop or I would have been on the water and it is a bit hot. Although I work outside so I will fish init also.

Yes the heat is brutal. May wait until Sept for my next trip. Fall Crappie should be easy to find this year.

Yep, get out there at daylight and then come back in by 10:30. The morning hours from 6-8 am are very comfortable then by 9 or so its getting warmer. If your catching fish and staying busy then you'll be good till 10 or so. Then kick that boat into high gear and turn the a/c on while your headed to the ramp. It beats not going at all.

Yep, still making Saturday & Sunday fishing till about 10:30. As long as there is a little breeze, we can POP the umbrella and usually get to noon. But at this time of year, it is not (for us) about catching a limit of fish. We catch until the bite slows down or noon.

Just a couple hours away from the daily routine gets the job done. Plus gets us some more TOW with our Side Scans, which hopefully will pay off in the near future. For us (Being Rookie's), TOW is more important than the catching of fish, at this time. But we wouldn't EVER turn down TOW & catching fish. rolleyes

You can get a car down to the water under the toll bridge on the lake dallas side, but I don't know if it's legal to park there. People seem to be doing it though. Also you'd be launching without the benefit of a proper ramp so that might be an issue as well.

I personally would consider the 35 bridge too close to sneaky pete's to night fish it from a small boat unless it was pretty late on a week night. Some drunk is guaranteed to go through there throwing a massive wake at some point.

I really don't know about the drain on the battery. I run the fan and an aquarium two stone bubbler for the livewell. I run the voltage inverter on the starter battery and my Honda O/B has an excellent charger so every time I run it completely recharges the bat. But I do keep a small set of jumper cables just in case.
