Installed one this spring, the best investment I have made on my boat. Can fish all day in the summer and never worry about adding ice or the fish being alive.

it is supposed to keep livewell temp at approximately 70-72 degrees No sir, it will only cool your livewells 7-8 degrees below surface temps. If you took a bass out of 90 degree water and dropped it in a 72 degree livewell, the fish would more than likely die from shock. You've got to cool that water and fish gradually. You also have to gradually warm them back up prior to release if they're kept in a 72 degree livewell in the summer.

You also have to gradually warm them back up prior to release if they're kept in a 72 degree livewell in the summer. This is a hard lesson I learned this weekend. Had a big fish that was in good shape when I took it straight out of 72 degree water weighed in and released it. It went into shock and just finned on the surface. We finally gave up on it and pulled it out. I felt bad, since I stock a lot of fish and knew it had to be tempered back to the warm water. Won't forget this one again.
Retirement best job ever.

The unit has a cooling coil, i start off with about 16lbs of ice in the live well and about 21lbs packed on top of the cooling coil, I keep my live wells about 72-74 from the start to the end of the day, have not lost a single fish this year and have had compliments on the health of my fish. I fish 90% in the summer in 20ft+ The cold water will not shock the fish.

The cool water WILL shock them as WILL the hot water when you release the fish. They may not die in your possession, but they're more than likely going to die if not acclimated slowly when going from one temperature extreme to another.
I don't fish tournaments much but I have handled and transported largemouth bass for many, many years. I'm not just blowing hot air at you, sir.

Well if they're coming out of deeper water then no, you probably won't lose many in your tank. But, a bunch will die when they get dumped back into the 90-95 degree water at the boat ramp.
