You mean how fast is it going down is the correct wording. Been there 4 weekends in a row and i would guess ive seen it drop over a foot during that time.

That is because some of us here in west Texas (midland, Odessa, big spring, snyder) get our water from Ivie. Well we get it from Spence, JB Thomas, and Ivie. Spence is 1% full and Thomas is 3% full so our water is coming from just Ivie now. We need rain bad.

Actually, conservation pool is about 58 feet. There's much more shallow lakes in Texas.

It just tends to get drained easily cause they keep pumping water out, even in droughts, I think.

It's dried up before.

Sucks, though. I remember moving to San Angelo for about a year and a half, almost ten years ago now...and hauling fish of all species out of that lake when it was almost totally full.

What a shame.

Take some tanker trucks up to south dakota or Iowa, you'll get all the free water you want. They'll even help you fill em up i bet.

I remember in the early 80s (I was around 7yrs old), sitting in a boat tied against that flood gate, and catching bucket after bucket of crappie. Sometimes the boats would be 3 layers deep coming off of the gate and we would all just tie together.

Seeing it completely dry finally is REALLY sad.

Unfortunately according to the new reports west texas is expceted to be in this weather pattern for the next decade. I hope this is not true if so we are gonna be screwed. Will be no lakes left within a hundred miles.

A report came out yesterday that Angelo is 22 months away from running out of water completely.

Our first supply of water is OH IVie - 21% full
Second is EV Spence - Totally Empty
Third is OC Fisher - Totally Empty
Fourth is Twin Buttes - 9% full
Fifth is Lake Nasworth - 90% full but only stores 8 months of water.

Its bad. People are already putting there homes up for sales and moving away. Long term forecasts predcit 5 - 10 years of above normal wind and temperatures and below normal rainfall.

Lubbock and Amarillo are putting in big pipelines to Alan Henry, I wouldn't bet against Midland piping to it as well. Abilene is gonna end up pumping from Oak Creek and Sweetwater, maybe even Hubbard Creek. Terrible times.
