I think KVD gets better info. Denny would be hard to beat if you put them both in the same boat. How many replies did it take before we got to the "better info" bs. Blake, you gotta be kidding me. Denny is a legend, no doubt. And if it's a flippin' bite in flooded wood, Denny's always gonna be a favorite. But it ends there. Kevin is without question THE BEST bass fisherman alive. Roland has more championships, but not against the quality of anglers employing all the tools they have today. No way, no how is anyone even in KVD's league. Many are close. A bunch more aren't far off. But no one has consistently excelled at the top of their game, only to get stronger for as many consecutive years as KVD. I have a unique perspective in that I know the man and have had the honor of staying with him at a couple tournaments and hanging out at a few Classics. No one prepares harder or is more focused than Kevin. No one is as intense and no one goes to bed as early nor gets up as early. The man is the consummate professional both on the water and for his sponsors. He's a tireless worker and has earned everything he has achieved. I understand and respect your opinion and realize that you call him a friend. A couple of years ago he spent every cast of a tournament at 1 stump below the water with a Red eyed Shad. Even when they went several hours without biting he stayed, I feel he had the confidence in that spot, not because he found it in practice but because someone had told him that the big fish move into that spot all the time, why else would you not practice or look at the rest of the lake. Put Denny flippen those cypress stumps that KVD was cranking this year and I think he would have held his own against him. The guy just wanted opinions and I gave mine. I always respect yours.

To me there are plenty of guides that are better bass fishermen than him. They can go out every day no matter the conditions and put their clients on fish(and big fish), I'm not sure he could do that. SERIOUSLY!?!?!? Go ahead and throw these guides in a lake 1200 miles away and see how things go. Guides can be awesome in the lakes they guide on. Fishing pros have to excel in lakes all over the country. Even local guys on here that consistently takes peoples money in local tourneys have tried to play with the big boys and failed miserably. And it wasn't all due to finances either. Cause the formula is simple in tournament bass fishing (winning = money).

Hands down. And if you could ask the Elite Series pros I would bet you that nine out of 10 would tell you the same thing.
The guy is simply in a league by himself.

true KVD has 2-3 full time prefisherman? if it is all legal and you have all that sponsor money and winning surprised he doesn't have 10.

He could beat KVD using a Ron Popeil pocket fisherman and a brass swvil for a hook

He is definately the best BASS angler under the current format.
When you talk about the best angler, everyone has their own opinion on what makes the best. If we are talking about pounding out 3 lbers on lakes where a 10 lb bag is avg., than yes, KVD is the best.
HOwever, put him on a lake like Falcon and he does not do as well. Falcon is the kind of lake that you fish all day long for just 5 bites that total 40 lbs! On this type of lake KVD does not do well cause he gets caught up catching 50 5 lbers, great for the lakes he's used to, but not so great on Falcon.
Or, take for instance, Amistad! If every BASS event was held at Amistad, Velvick would be angler of the yr.
Or, the guy who goes out and fishes for only the biggest of bass. I bet KVD doesnt own the record for most fish caught over 12 lbs, prolly some good ol boy we never heard of.
Anyways, its all in what you value. Personally, I think that KVD is the best Bass angler in the world because of his versitility and ability to catch fish in a wide range of conditions. Thats just my opion!
There's Pirates on Falcon! Better Stay Home!
