Try Gamagatsu G Lock hooks...they hold really good for me.

anybody ever worry about that superglue chemical stink? i use spray after, but can still smell that glue

Exactly what I use, works great. The H2o hooks are pretty dang good. I started using this after mark posted these, they are money.

I will hit them with a quick spray of LFT Hawg Wild Garlic Spray when I put them in the organizer. I have not noticed any less bites.

I also use the hooks Fishin Machine posted but here is another neat trick especially if you are pitching to some nasty stuff. I use it with tubes all the time since the screw lock hooks don't have much plastic to hold on to on a a tube.

What you need is an offset hook. You can use either a round bend or a wide gap, it doesn't matter. Get you some small swivels that are about the length from the bend in the offset to the eyelet of the hook. Put your line through one end of the swivel and tie on your hook. Then thread the front of your bait on the hook and then slip the other end of the swivel over the hook and finish Tx. rigging or Txposing your bait. With this set up, the bait can't slip down because the swivel is holding it in place. It will have to completely tear off before it slips down.

Did I explain it well enough with the swivel for you go understand how to put it on? It works very well.

I've used all of the above methods but by far the best way is to use Parasite Clips which keeps the bait from sliding down. They are just what ebassin described. Unlike a regular swivel they have a bend in them so they hold tight to the bait.

On the bass pro site they are called Parasite worm weight clips but they really don't have anything to do with a regular weight. $3.49 for 10.

Thanks for the post. I had forgotten about them and need to buy some more. They will pay for themselves by being able to use plastics longer.

If you are using a creature bait as a jig trailer, I prefer the Chunk X sling.

So you just don't shrink the end that you cut at an angle?
