I would discuss this with the TD before I handed him my money. If I liked his response/actions then I would fish. If not Id go out and fish anyways just not in the tourney...

I fish a lot of tourneys and I disagree that the money is the issue and this kind of stuff comes up when money is on the line. I fish for the club points and championship and if I win a check thats nice but not why I fish these events. Saying that I like rules to follow and this event would not see me fishing it.

It is nice to pull a check. Now, don't take it personal, like the post says, "it is the select few that gives us a bad wrap."

I have only fished a few tournaments and surprised that live wells are not checked before tournament starts. Sure most are honest people but some people are not and will do anything for a pay check.

Makes me think twice about entering those tournaments. It should be run a little tighter ship if you ask me.

I ran into that problem a couple years ago. Raising hell about it cost me more than it benefitted me. I do think that following the rules is the right thing to do not only for now but for the next guy. If you have one tournament director that does not follow the rules and you�re the next tournament director, you will be expected to make those same �Exceptions �God help you if you don't!

As required by state game laws, dead fish must be retained as part of your daily limit. It is illegal to cull dead fish.

when you play at Wrigley Field everyone plays by Wrigley's Rules, if not just have em rename the Tourny the "LIARS & LOSERS !!! jmo

I agree that there should be some rules put into place before hand. This covers all bases. I have been fishing tournaments for a while now and have seen some of this but like i always say the one that is doing this will always get whats coming to them. IF A TOURNAMENT FISHERMAN FEELS LIKE THEY NEED TO CHEAT THEN BY ALL MEANS TAKE THE MONEY!!! AT THE END OF THE DAY I WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR MY ACTIONS ON THE WATER, SO THEREFORE IF A CHEAT CAN LIVE WITH THAT SO CAN I.

I fished with a guy in a small tournie for the first time once.He asked me if I would do something that I knew was cheating . I told him 'you know thats cheating ,right?"He said yes but that everyone did it so it was alright.I told him that it wasn't alright with me. That was the first and last time I fished that little get together.
