Trust me not legal.. I retired from it in 2004 after about $700.00 in fines and making the TPWD Wall of Shame...

Keith, let'em do it. Remember, we have the biggest water moc's because it's Texas. i agree it will not hurt the fish population because the ones that want it passed are doing it anyways. i dont see why anyone would be aginst that but not aginst taking a limit of flatheads off a set line i mean you dont even have to be there to catch the fish that way please........we do not want to go there......this conversation would be better off ended now

like NoCoolNameToo said grabblin is alive & well in texas ... like i said before the most out spoken on this subject wouldn't know grabblin' from bat squeeze ... all they know is they do not like grabblin', cuz it don't fit their perfect lil' utopia
anybody that knows what he is doing with trotlines or any kinda set lines will take far more fish than a grabbler ... for that matter people that fish rod & reel all the time will take way more fish than a grabbler ... well cept maybe DCM
regards albertking catfishing is now an industry ... it's best for the industry to eat baby catfish

funny how almost all the replies have been made by folks that couldn't tell the difference in grabblin & bat squeeze Regardless of what you call it, it's not going to be good for the sport. Need to encourage the serious catfishermen on here to call their representatives and encourage them to vote no. Hate to bust y'alls bubble but it has been going on for years in Texas . The law if passed may pick up a few newbs but for the most part it will be the same ones that have been doing it for years. Yeah I know we go to OK and louisanna and hog grappin ect what ever you want call it I hope it pass for the guys that are scared you should try it. Its the way our/my ancestors fished. Just hope it's a flat not a big blue or channel they have one hell of a bite.

like i said before the most out spoken on this subject wouldn't know grabblin' from bat squeeze ... all they know is they do not like grabblin', cuz it don't fit their perfect lil' utopia ....sort of like how making sweeping generalizations about people that you don't know from bat squeeze doesn't do much to help support your position.

I used to grabble all the time when I was younger. You do catch fish that way but like it was said earlier, people running set lines and stuff Are gonna catch more than the average grabbler. I don't see a problem with it but if I was a guide, that fished rivers I can understand why they don't want it passed. But anyone wanting to try it I will tell you it is a rush, buy I will take catching a 10+ pound fish on rod n reel over grabbling a 40 pound flatty any day. To me that's more fun. JMO
