[quote=noodlerbrady]Hello board:
My name is Brady and I am the individual that brought this issue to Rep. Elkins. I am a life long noodler and felt it silly that you can noodle on one bank of the Red River and not the other. Noodlin in a social bonding activity for many Southern Families and I wanted to see it become legal in the greatest state in the union. As for the comment about the bill legalizing noodling except for the spawn, that is not how the bill is written and I think there was a misunderstanding somewhere. If the bill passes, there will be noodling in the spawn but there will likely be reduced bag limits.
Thank you for your interest and please support this cause by emailing your State Rep in support of HB 2189.
With a handshake,
Brady ...

I did not see anything about a season in there. I personally do not like the idea of noodling in Texas.

Guess it's time to call Mr Flores and ask him to vote no.

Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Kansas, Illinois, Arkansas, and Missouri
i would bet the above states are on their last leg as far as catfishin' ... cuz they allow grabblin' ... grabblin' is a texas term
funny how almost all the replies have been made by folks that couldn't tell the difference in grabblin & bat squeeze
regards albertking catfishing is now an industry ... it's best for the industry to eat baby catfish

now Albert.....I for one speak from a little eperience. i got talked into a weekend of "fishin" by hand (noodleing) one time at Lake Broken Bow....needless to say, I was not impressed, frankly, it was the stupidest thing I ever tried. I could not give a rat's arse less if some fool wants to get drowned by a big old catfish, i just hope I don't hook one of them in the arm with my circle hooks cause they's in my way!

Im for it....i would like to try it once or twice. its all about the bag and size limit. whats the difference in catching 5 yellow with your hands or catching them on rod and reel/lines. Does everyone stop fishing with rod & reels/lines during the spawn??

I don't have an issue at all with it being passed but it needs to be in the hands of Parks and Wildlife. They are the ones who know how it will effect the fishing populations, not some stuffy suit in the capital.

funny how almost all the replies have been made by folks that couldn't tell the difference in grabblin & bat squeeze Regardless of what you call it, it's not going to be good for the sport. Need to encourage the serious catfishermen on here to call their representatives and encourage them to vote no. Hate to bust y'alls bubble but it has been going on for years in Texas . The law if passed may pick up a few newbs but for the most part it will be the same ones that have been doing it for years.

I thought noodling was already legal in Texas. I remember a story on the local news 10 years ago or so that followed a guy out to Ray Hubbard and he was pulling flatheads from underneath the boat ramps.
